I have a couple of nicks in my paint that I need to fix. I have the typical do-it-yourselfer concern: I may f*ck it up. I'm looking for a "How To", names of specific products, and/or reassuring claims that it's easy to do a good job. Hit me, smarty!
It depends on the size of the damage. Very small nicks and scratches can be covered by those wax pencil things. Have a look here. I would think very carefully before attempting to repair significant paint damage myself. That's a job that needs a cautious and considered approach.
Thanks for the replies folks. I checked today, and I realize have another mark about 6 inches long and 0.5" wide where I had a minor accident. No metal is visble, but the scratches are pretty conspicuous. I'm certainly not going to try to fix this myself. My plan is to go to a couple of places, get quotes on the damage mentioned above, then see if they'll throw in repairs to the tiny nicks. Wish me luck!
