Watched the first half. Commented to my girlfriend that it was getting hard to keep watching these idiots make fools of themselves the way they were. Not a one of 'em sounded even halfway intelligent.
He dodged just about all of the ones I saw him get asked. Haley and Pence came across best, IMHO. Both showed far more fire than I've seen up to this point and both of them tore Ramasmarmy a new asshole.
Was there anything new to slam republicans on that I missed by having anything better to do than to watch a bunch of losers on stage about a year before the primaries that none of them will win unless Trump dies? The only point of these primaries was to make money off of political drama way too early. This is all fundraising for people who are likely not even making the first primary. Having a primary this early has only one purpose, and that is to cause fatigue for voters in the next election so everyone but a bunch of sycophant nutbars is so tired of hearing from our old and tired candidates that they have better things to do a year from now than wait hours on line to decide between shit sammich R or D. Is their some subway training exercise that forces our shit sammich maker to have to pay attention?
Most pundits who don't have their heads firmly up Trump's arse seem to be of the view that Haley performed the best last night.
To Haley's credit, she appears to be the only candidate willing to say that women who get abortions shouldn't be executed. So there's that. On the other hand, the absurd claim she made during her obligatory turn at trans-bashing — that the reason 1/3 of teenage girls report suicidal thoughts is that there is an epidemic of biological boys hanging out in their locker rooms — quickly erased that brief moment of something approaching human decency.
FF and UA aren't sure whether to believe that yet, but it'll trickle to their Youtube channels, and then they will. Then we'll get an earful.
I did see one take on (I think) Huffpost that described her as coming across as "shrill", which strikes me as anachronistic sexism, but whatever...
