You want soldiers to be killed for telling the truth (or at least their view of it)?

Not particularly, I want them to do their job and honor the chain of command.

I want them to do their jobs. Military officers and planners were threatened with being fired for expressing the need for a post-war plan.

It's fairly obvious from the current state of affairs that a post-war plan was essential.

Obviously they did or we would have heard about all of this 4 years ago.

I thought the chain of command was to do your job and keep your mouth shut.

It all just seems a bit partisan.

It's my understanding that once retired, they are free to speak their minds. That's what I've heard in media interviews from generals on both sides of the issue.

If these guys were doing their jobs, how come our guys weren't ready when the go word came? Wars don't wait for you to have the latest and greatest... You go when the boss says "go"...and a lot of these officers were the ones responsible for making sure that readiness was maintained so that we can go on that moment's notice.

    I'm not a traitor. I'm a secessionist.

    There's a difference.

Though surely unintended, your comments make me even more sympathic to the guys sent to "go" without the latest and greatest.

They trot out the same show ponies who signed a letter a year ago in front of a faux committee of Democrats and AP laps it up.

    Nope, no media bias here.

You are correct, because there's no such thing as "media bias". It's a trump card that right-wingers like to play whenever the press shows them muck-jumping into a septic tank.

Are you trying to say you think the war/post war was run well?

That the post war was/is being handled horribly is beyond dispute IMHO...but what happened during the war its self? It seems to me (admittedly as a bystander) that it went about as well as can be expected.

The war was like Tyson V a 6 year old girl in a no holds barred cage fight.
Of course it was won quickly, it was almost impossible to fuck it up. But things that should have been happening alongside defeating the baath regime like securing the borders and not unnecessarily destroying much needed infrastructure never happened

Are you really that stupid? Wait - I know the answer to that.

The media bias I'm pointing out is that six weeks before an election the AP treats as news a year-old story about a few disgruntled generals talking before a non-existent senate committee as if it were something new.

You really are a mouth-breathing retard, Dan.
