Half a thing perhaps. I don’t think you’d have posted the meme if you agreed it was by a fucking authoritarian who doesn’t recognize the legislature as co-equal with the executive branch. So either you think whether the sentiment is authoritarian or not depends on the speaker (hypocrite), or you’re just fine with the authoritarianism, which is more than a little weird for a so-called “libertarian”.

I think the idea that promise ever went away was a sort of illusion. Yes, there is an increase in activity, but we have also come way out of the safe places we used to be forced into. Coming out of the safe places into the general public has put us into areas where we are assumed safe because of witnesses and allies.

I have been attacked a few times, and harassed many more. This was long before Trump and Desantis. The attacks occurred in public rather than GLBT spaces. Drag events go on all the time, every night of the week, in every city and a lot of the US in glbt bars. You would have to have an army able to clamp down everywhere to stop drag and glbt activity. It would be likie prohibition level oppression. Just like prohibition, you would only make it much more popular and lose by banning it.

There also is a problem with the new glbt community especially online. Where some safe spaces need judgmental moderation that rids it of abusive personalities, we have to remember those are just the safe spaces. Those are where we go to breathe and relax, but when we get out in public we have to deal with negative perceptions of who we are. The same applies to the Nazis, and we have to realize those similarities. We are fascist about our safe spaces because those are our safe spaces. However, just like Nazis who come out of their safe spaces, we have to recognize some people are not going to like us in public spaces. pretending like our group does not have to deal with that while every other group deals with haters puts us on the supremacist path.

In public we all have to exist, but we all do not have to like or want to be friends with each other. There need to be rules, social contracts, where we cannot be persecuted and run out of public spaces, but we cannot force people to like us. I am not going to like a Nazi, but that does not mean I am right in assaulting, harassing, or harming them. The same thing needs to apply to GLBT people. When people violate those rules we have prisons.

The problem I see is we really need to start applying these rules to christian nazi republicans a lot more because they get away with breaking the social contracts the most.

Oh, I’m not joking, either. We go to civil war and if I can’t escape the country, I’m going to go all William Tecumseh Sherman on the rich and Republicans. You wanted a civil war? Ya got it in all of its unrelenting horror.

I am not planning on trying to escape. I am killing anything chubby white bald with a chinbeard or hair around it's pie hole unless I know it isn't a gravy seal. I might eliminate a couple of hipsters, but I will give people a choice to suck dick so I don't kill any redneck gays.

My problem with running away is that at the point this gets to a civil war with republicans we start to see the rise of the next Nazis. Given the benefits of the US over Germany I am not giving this land to them. Normally I would say fuck it and not be bothered and let the monkeys sort things out on their own, but at that point all the bad monkeys will have identified themselves and sorted themselves onto a side, so I can let the demon out without being concerned with moral what ifs and the social contract that was ripped up. I have done most other things I have wanted, so full fledged sadistic killing spree becomes an option for the bucket list.
