That's a nice facepalm @Lanzman but it's a perfectly correct thing when talking about FF, a man who has asserted multiple times that if a right isn't written there it doesn't exist.

Nope not true at all. I believe that powers not delegated to the federal government belong to the states and therefore respectively to the people in those states because I also believe that they know better what's best for them than some swamp creature. I believe in democracy and what the supreme court has done in these recent cases is a result of democracy. Now the people in each state a choice (you believe in choice, right?) to decide how much the government should be involved in their private lives. If they are wise, they can codify into law, the state constitution, the right to have an abortion and place whatever restrictions on that right they choose. That's how this country was supposed to function until progressives fundamentally changed things beginning in the late 19th century/late 20th century. That's called democracy and it's also called law makers forced to do their jobs instead staying in constant gridlock and getting rich off of wealthy donors and lobbyists. The best part about it is if enough of the people in the various states decide that the government is overstepping their bounds, they can vote them out.

This is not true, rights that are not written in the federal constitution do in fact exist. That's why the ninth and tenth amendment were written, to address that very point.

Isn't it amazing how the objectively best and fairest system just happens to be the one your founders wrote down!

I gotta go with FF on this one. Sensible and well-adjusted people can and do make self-destructive decisions sometimes, and I'm not comfortable with the tinge of victim-blaming around saying that getting involved with an abusive person implies a personal failing.
