No, I voted for Gary Johnson. You can repeat it all you want, it doesn't make it true. A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Gary Johnson. You can fuck off with your bullshit. I don't give a flying fuck if you think that's a vote for Gary Johnson, it's a god damn lie that it's a vote for Trump. I don't owe anyone my fucking vote, they need to earn it and sorry, but Clinton didn't earn my vote. Go fuck yourself!
Yes, I agree, you voted for Trump. Republicans count on rubes like you to vote third party (or not vote at all). Not sure where the disagreement is???? Unless you accidentally voted Clinton??
You're gonna freak out when you realise that there are countries outside the USA and many of them have actually in reality done the thing you say doesn't work.
Actually, I voted for Donald Trump. On my ballot, I voted for Gary Johnson. But since Michigan went for Trump (if I had known how close it was going to be, and how unbelieveable horrendous Trump would turn out to be, I would have voted Clinton, even though I disliked her politics so thoroughly -- to me, she exemplifies the worst of both parties, with very little of the good of either one), in the electoral college the weight of my vote went for Trump. I feel sullied.
Baily said that other countries have tried what I said didn't work. Communism failed which is why I brought up the USSR.
This is actually what you said: Given that the thread is about Covid-19, the post you were responding to was about Covid-19 and distancing requirements, and your post was saying that wouldn't work, what do you think is most likely. 1. That I was taking a tangent into arguing that Communism would actually work just fine. 2. That I was referring to the subject matter of the thread, the post you were responding to, and what you yourself seemed to be talking about.
Has your unemployment run out? Are you able to feed yourself? ETA: if you're curious about the sustainability of giving everyone $2,000 a month for the next year, let's do some math. This is elementary school math so please don't hurt me for posting this in the RR. There are about 30 million unemployed in the US now (23.1 million as of april, but let's exaggerate some). 30,000,000 * $2,000 * 12months = $720,000,000,000 That looks like an awfully big number, but when you count the zeros it's $720 billion. For a year. Don't forget these folks would continue buying goods and services and paying taxes to help the needy rich. It looks pretty sustainable to me.
better double that 2 grand. In many parts of the country 2 grand doesn't even cover your rent. However I have a work-around. Don't send money to those who don't need it. How do we determine this? The IRS already has that info and more - that's how they deposited COVID money into our accounts so fast. Thus unless you are recently unemployed (send in proof) you shouldn't be getting any COVID money. In my case the government could just not pay me, and double up on paying those who need it the most. If this happened across the board it would be cost-effective and target those who need it the most. Say what you will about the IRS I have had nothing but positive experiences with them. We should structure even more financial projects through them IMHO.
Back when I told my friends I didn't like either main candidate so I'd probably vote for Gary Johnson, my liberal friends said "No! A vote for Johnson is a vote for Trump!" And my conservative friends said "No! A vote for Johnson is a vote for Hillary!" So basically a third party vote is a vote for whichever candidate the particular person you're talking to doesn't like. And all of them are full of shit, and have their heads up their partisan asses.
You graduated from college. Unless you're claiming to have graduated the entire college. Maybe you can clarify that. Meanwhile, now that your state has the highest number of deaths over several days, here's what your genius governor did yesterday: Virginia Governor Goes to the Beach Sans Mask, Takes Selfie
No. A third party vote is a vote for whoever has the majority in your state, due to the Electoral College.
I blame video games. If you "beat a level", you do indeed beat the whole level. The whole thing de-materializes to be replaced by the next one. I've driven by my old high school from time to time, and no such luck there. No disintegration to be had. A pity. It could really use it.
He's a Democrat! You're not allowed to give him shit when he's being stupid! If you don't apologize and delete your post we're going to have to revoke your Lefty card!
Actually, that's true of everyone who votes in the state. But a third-party vote is an explicit choice to let that happen, rather than try to influence the outcome. Which is why I maintain that it is valid only if you don't really care, or if you know that your state is so sure to go one way or the other that your vote can't possibly make any difference. It is true, however, that the "a third-part vote is a vote for X" line is nonsense. Mathematically, it doesn't work out that way at all.
