Positive things that you learn from sports, discipline, chain of command, teamwork, working with different personality types, working with your strengths and building them up, setting goals and achieving them, competition, building moral, confidence building, learning to accept losses and learning from your mistakes. These are all things you need to function as an adult in the world.

Forced participation in sports doesn't make anyone a better person any more than going to church makes anyone a better person. But, that you think this says a lot about your personality.

And nowhere and nothing else, ever, ever , ever.

All the benefits of sports can be had without participating in them or embracing any of the inherent douchebaggery.
