Twitchy link A black NAACP leader was outed by her white parents. Should it matter that her parents are white if she self-identifies as black? What about Elizabeth Warren who is Cherokee born of white parents, or Hillary Clinton who was born as a small black child in the South?
Humans are humans, race isn't a thing, it was invented by racists in the first place. Wanting to be another "race", is as delusional as thinking you're a part of one in the first place. It's an extension of the big dumb phony game, not an escape from it. What there REALLY is, is segregated pockets of culture, and we're seeing that all start to blend together, and become a melting pot even faster thanks to the internet. So, call yourself white, black, green, purple with six arms, I don't give a shit, because the cultural cachet one can gain from any of that is a dying dinosaur anyway.
Ever notice how every social conservative argument boils down in the end to "well society agrees with ME so neener!!"? Until it doesn't, then they're butt-hurt about how the country is going down the toilet.
10% of people are born with the wrong skin? I think 10% of people are born with an unwillingness to accept reality.
It looks like Orange is the new Black. The Congressional Black Caucus will recruit John Boehner any day now.
America's largest bi-racial group (white/native American) doesn't report itself as bi-racial. Daily Mail link Some of the white/Native American women I know brag on having perfect skin from the Native American side. Sadly, Elizabeth Warren, who is trans-racial instead of bi-racial, didn't get those genes.
By the way, it's almost certain that Caitlyn Jenner is transracial. No real white person could run and jump that well.
If we self identify as black, can we now call each other nigga? Do we white-black people not deserve reprerations? White-black lives matter. See where this is going liberals, see what you've done?
Sure, what's lost in translation is that race is an artificial construct. Her parents look less "black" than she does, but like you say, visually, she could be described as such. And she has four "black" siblings, has spent a life time immersed in "black" issues. What is black? Here's the NAACP's take on the question: Source I'm a bit concerned that she tried to pass off somebody else as her father, but can conceive of reasons why she might see that man in such terms. Need more information on that part, but if you start from the position that there is only one race (human), then the story is pretty meaningless aside from some family laundry getting aired in public.
Later, in an apparent reference to the origins of human life in Africa, Dolezal added: “We’re all from the African continent.” Charlize Theron is from the African continent. Most other whites took a loooooong meandering journey to get here. Does this mean transracial whites can get in on hiring quotas for public sector jobs?
Saw this on CNN http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/12/us/washington-spokane-naacp-rachel-dolezal-identity/ The biggest issue I have with this is her lying about her ethnicity to that community. You can identify with what ever group you want, but don't try and perpetrate a fraud on people by saying you are black and pass off someone else as your father in order to sustain the lie.
That was my thought on it as well. Be whomever you want to be, but don't falsify your past in the process.
Everyone falsifies their past to a great extent. Half the people here hide their AVN award nominations and wins.
While I'm sure you pulled that out your ass, this is actually a thing: http://secondnexus.com/social/the-b...ar-less-asian-by-college-counselors/?ts_pid=2 For the record, I don't support this. If they give up their lives to have the qualifications to go to Ivy League they should go. And the rest of 'Murica can start pushing their kids harder.
