Shouldn't being against racism include being against anti-white racism?

I saw this example today and thought I would see what WordForge has to say. There are many more example but, as I said, this is one I saw today. Discuss.

Well, he's right about cops and the president, but the rest is just loony.

There is a fairly well known line of thought articulated by people who are known for being pretty moderate on racial issues like Juan Williams and IIRC repeated by a moderator here to the effect that "racism requires power". Thus given that blacks for the most part are not in power in the United States and white people are then blacks and other minorities can't be racists regarding whites.

Yes. There can of course be racism by individuals of any race against individuals of any race. That’s been around forever and exists in all non-homogenous cultures.

That can be easily ignored or fought against.

Institutionalized racism is a different thing and much harder to combat and dislodge. I think we are making progress but there is still some ways to go. Institutionalized racism does imply an uneven level of power of a majority race against a minority.

Because it has existed for centuries one would not expect it to go away over night. I abhor racism and bigotry in all its forms. Especially when the victim is powerless to do anything about it.

For example look at your own community. Yes there is racism by whites against blacks. And racism against whites by blacks. But who is in the more difficult situation there? Who is more likely to be subject to brutality or interrogation by police? Which group is more likely to be denied or discouraged from housing and job opportunities?

Speaking of institutionalized racism... If any white had said that sort of stuff against another race he would be expelled but this racist will walk free and nothing will happen. Yes, THAT is true institutionalized racism.

Racism (systematic discrimination and the institute of such) and bigotry are two different things.

Blacks can absolutely be bigots--like my mom, who says shit like she'd be afraid to have children if she were white because they'd end up as serial killers or mass murderers. Or my black friends on bother sides of the political spectrum who think Teh Ghey is either a white man's perversion or the result of single mother homes. But in general blacks do not have the power to affect policy to target white folks not own corporations in such numbers to disenfranchise white workers.

I don't defend anyone's bigotry, but black stereotypes of white boys being serial killers isn' going to have one in four white men in prison and girls named Hannah and Becky and (insert any name with a K here) aren' in any danger of having their resumes thrown in the trash for having "basic" names.

I would like to suggest that almost all the men in prison are there because they, you know, COMMITTED CRIMES!!

I would like to suggest that crime and incarceration rates have a lot to do with the social conditions people are born into, to put it very simply. Systemic racism plays a role in urban crime, among other things. Doesn't absolve the criminal from personal responsibility, but if we all worked on making life better for everyone and not just the 1% maybe we'd have some success preventing kids from growing up to be criminals.

But in a country where the prevailing attitude is "fuck you, I've got mine," I'm not too optimistic. Canada could probably get it done.

Ok, what are your conditions for equality? This is something I have never heard a solid answer for. The closest thing I have heard is when equality of outcome is achieved, when the numbers of female CEOs reach 51%, equal the the female/male population ratio, same with race, sexual orientation , ect. Okay, so then will we have equality and intersectional racisim will be abolished? No, there's still the house, Senate, STEM, ect. The numbers have to all match (except for construction trades, waste management, or any other dirty job or job with a more than anecdotal fatality chance, men can keep those) but what this overlooks is equality of opportunity. You, I, anyone can apply for any government position, employment at any company, or enrollment in college. It's been that way for decades. If you're paid less based on race, sexuality, gender, ect. there's the equal pay act of 1963. That shit is taken seriously. Same goes for any other aspect of society, there are protections against discrimination and harassment at every level. When it does happen, Harvey Weinstein, for example, it gets out and societial pressure will end the perpetrators career, livelyhood, and you bet he will see the inside of a courtroom. The only ones covering up for ol' Harv's misdeeds were insiders in a tight knit closed industry. Now that it's out it's all spirialing to the ground.

Women, for example, aren't 51% of CEOs and engineers because, on average, women aren't interested those fields. They have endless choices for careers and they aren't choosing those fields, again, on average.

This destroys the intersectional argument, so we get silly arguments like there being no biological difference between the sexes, at least in terms of brain chemistry, you're sexist racist transphobic homophobic and xenophobic for looking at the evidence proving other wise. Shut up. It's all because straight white men have all the power in society, and nothing else.
