Where can i get a free version of Adobe Reader, with nothing else? My laptops new, i'm wary of downloading things on it atm, but i still need adobe to read some things for uni. Help please!!
Reader is free from adobe, and as far as i know doesnt come bundled with anything bad http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/reader/
odd... i googled it, and first few ones i saw tried to charge me or put it in with a different package cheers!!
That sounds like acrobat, the pro version that allows you to create .pdf's as well.... i might be wrong though
Bah. Everyone tries to jump on the bandwagon. And if it isn't a pretender, the free download will usually try at least once to upsell you to the full version.
Can you install that program side-by-side with Adobe Acrobat Pro? The reason I ask is because I am required by my job to have Pro so that I can create .PDF versions of technical procedures when I develop them, but when I actually want to READ the damn things I would rather not have the memory overhead and slow speed of acrobat reader.
Sure can. I've got it installed next to Adobe Acrobat Pro 6.0 at work. You'll have to mind the associations and that sort of thing. Adobe seems to think it needs to control everything PDF related on a PC. You might want to check out PDFCreator too. I've been using it for PDF creation that doesn't have to go to a professional printer.
