Personally I don't care about the 'wall' from an immigration perspective but don't mind the idea from a security perspective. Future bombers will seek the course of least resistance to murder us. Probably will end up being a wall in part metaphorically with things like sensor-technology or drones for long stretches. Since congress will never pass an opportunity to spend you can bet your sagging ass we will see "infrastructure" bill that includes parts of an actual wall. Trump's base will probably judge his overall record on immigration reform, in contrast to pretty much every lying politician in the past that's made promises.

Ah, so it's Congress's fault. Nothing to do with the fact that the prototypes are risible. As spins go, that was predictable.

In general quite true, but re: you, my goodness would probably be viewed as 'tough love' since the main thing I expect from government is opportunity for all Americans (except the infirm) to have jobs and be encouraged to work, and those already working to have better jobs, and for everyone to be better off than 'yesterday.'
