Not that I saw. Just some middle aged white people with a few destroy Israel signs. They seemed a lonely group though. The Muslims seem to hang out in El Cajon especially at the welfare office (the only part of the country they seem to like). Women's rights doesn't seem to be something they are passionate about.

Hillcrest is nice and gays are good for property values. There are some good restaurants there as gays eat out a lot and have good tastes but I actually am downtown right now not in Hillcrest.

@Dinner - I was in NoCal & SoCal for a week last week. My observations were that the Mexican food was fantastic, the pizza was horrendous (I live in the best pizza area in the country so I'm pretty particular) and every other car was a Prius Hybrid. Oh, and it indeed DOES rain in Southern California.

The best pizza in the country is here. You must have eaten at Pizza Hut or some other chain. Seriously, numerous competitions have said San Diego is tge best pizza city in the country for both quality and types of styles available. We routinely also get named America's top beer city.

There are a lot of hybrid or electric cars though. By law every mall has charging stations and they are always packed with punters charging batteries.

That is the main one at D.C. not where I was. Well, am, as I am still at The Gas Lamp BBQ enjoying $3 beers and a rather nice smoked tri tip sandwich.

3 of the top 11 pizzerias are in Connecticut and a couple more are in NYC. I do hear SD is a hotbed for microbrewers though.

In retrospect I probably should have bit the data bullet. I confess to feeling like a dirty old man whipping out my cellphone on some college coeds looking for shock value.

Truthfully, more is typically seen at a drunken over the line tournament. Another fine San Diego tradition. Anything to get women drunk and naked is worthy in my book.

Save Africa? You would think they need to focus on saving the US first - which is obviously in grave, imminent danger from Trump's blitzkrieg across Libtopia :drama: where his first order of business is to annex Leftavia. :drama:

Through my job I am a part of the planning for these events from the government side. Our working assumption was 50k.

I'm also on the email list for those who 'need to know' what's going down, although this time I was not in the Command Post or on call.

The last estimate I saw on the Command Post email list was 130k. It was huge. I'm not sure for how long this lasted but for a while at least the march had already ended at Seattle Center but the tail had yet to leave Judkins Park. That's 3.9 miles of people.

While Seattle Subway (group I am involved with) and Seattle Women's Chorus (group Anne is involved with) both organized meetups, we ended up doing our own thing with our family. Her mother came down last night and then brother joined us this morning. Anne can get anxious in big crowds so we decided not to do the standing around part (rally was at 10, march started at 11) and in fact we wanted to be a little late as we figured it would take a little while to get moving anyway.

Ended up being even later than intended as the first bus was too full and only stopped long enough to tell us the one behind had more room. Got to Judkins Park easily enough once we caught the second bus. Really chaotic. Took about an hour and a half to even get through the people gathering section and actually marching. Another half hour before the pace got to be more than a plod.

Very mixed crowd. Lots of women and pink, but lots of everyone else as well. Very multiracial/ethnic. Probably helped by starting in the Central District (historically black neighborhood and right next to the Valley which is very mixed). Lots of multigenerational families like ours.

We bailed after a couple hours. We almost made it to Seattle Center but it started getting backed up. I surmised that larger than expected crowd meant that there wasn't room for everyone. Instead of going back to plodding and waiting, we headed home. My mother in law was tired and she had to drive back up to Everett AND was taking Isaac for the weekend so needed her strength. Also, Anne and I have a birthday party to go to (a late one for her actually, it was too busy for our friends to throw her one during the holidays) that we needed to get ready for.

Thankfully ST was running 3 car trains all day, so it was relatively easy getting home.

I'm happy for today's peaceful protests and these women marching today achieving a hopeful message after overcoming bankruptcy and utter failure at the polls in November and the lesson they learned from Trump, and it's almost as inspiring a story as Trump overcoming bankruptcy in casino or real estate business to become POTUS.

Properly tag the pics with spoiler and NSFW tags and you'd have been fine. And if not, it'd only have been a warning, not a ban.

Well, that was interesting. Some gulf Arab shit just pulled up in a Lamborghini in a five minute loading and unloading zone because he didn't want to pay to properly park it or what ever.

The bar tender immediately called the cops, a tow truck showed up, and the Arab is crying because his Lamborghini just got towed. The cops laughed at him and told him next time do not illegally park it. Life is good.

It really is. Arrogant piece of shit thinks he is above the law and the law proves they do not care if you have a broke ass Yugo or a super car. While they will tow both I think they are a little quicker on the arrogant prick with the expensive car. Moral: Don't try to park illegally.
