You know that thought experiment that goes "If you received a box with a button on it, and it came with a note that said every time you pushed the button you'd receive a million dollars and someone you'ce never met will die, would you push the button?"

Billionaires are pushing the equivalent of that button constantly in real life.

I'm not saying I trust the 99% without reservation, but there are more than a few people that don't make it into the 1% because they lack that level of psychopathy usually required to do so. The greedy asshole that owned the restaurant where I got my first job might have been a greedy asshole, but he didn't didn't force me to piss in bottles so I could do my job faster. :async:

The thread has veered in the general boilerplate direction of safety nets and the abuses of the 1%. If you want a verbatim quote stating exactly that, I'd rather concede it does not exist than re-read sixteen fucking pages. If that doesn't leave you sufficiently indulged, feel free to continue ignoring the point.

I am not trying to make anything look like anything. Step outside your persona for a moment and conceive of the unthinkable possibility of saying or doing something because it is sincere, not because you live beholden to the reactions of others. I don't give two shits how your personal beer goggles warp my meaning into your selective perceptions.

Nothing has been deleted. I added more to it a very short time later. And I am through dignifying the dumb shit "tainted words" game. Quit acting like a twitter drama whore.

Whenever you say "collectivized expense" the baby-ghost of a future insurance agent gets the runs.
    That's right in the Bible.

Those things have largely come about in the conversation because you steered the conversation in that direction with your repeated statements about how CRT apparently requires and/or leads to them.

The post before yours (that I assumed you were replying to) also seemed to not suggest the things that your post says.

Jenee's post referring to everyone winning seemed very clear to me in context to be a "rising tide raises all boats" style of comment, whereas your response seems to suggest a zero-sum view.

No. It tells me nothing as far as what you mean.

Are you saying social safety nets are bad because collectivism?

Then you are wrong. Because unfortunately for you, you do live in and exist within this society. As long as you live in an apartment, buy food from a grocery store, work, drive on roads - even riding your bike through the park to get to work, you exist in that society. And until you move to a remote location and grow your own food and cotton to make into fabric to make into clothes, you will remain part of that collectiveness.

So, if not for social safety nets, your taxes would be double digits higher percentage-wise to cover the costs of those who can’t cover their own because they not only don’t have money, but they don’t have any avenue to regain their footing. Then add to that the cost of disposing of bodies after an entire family has frozen/starved to death.

Hell, just look at medieval Europe, is that the kind of society you want to live in?

Diacanu would probably be one of the least objectionable political leaders I can think of.

Also, none of your accomplishments are you own--they are predominantly thanks to the society you live in.

Got some mice in your pocket?

Xi Jinping is to the right of Pol Pot, and he most decidedly is not a Nazi.

    Well, that was easy.

Nah, can't be. I've got relatives who are on the right of the political spectrum, and IIRC the precedent is that relatives can't hold any Nazi type views.
