So whatever happened to Shelter Thread releases?

[I'm really only starting this thread to give Uncle Albert a post or two to neg rep]

Having lost months of posts there is little point in a new Shelter Release thread. Though I'm happy to provide a recap of the conversations! There were a couple of reported posts, a discussion about introducing different banners (I was all for the idea), something about erasing all things Wordforge because our backup was months old (yeah that idea tanked) and there were more than a few updates to the ongoing 'Ban Packard' strategy thread.

Other than that? Same ole boredom you can find in every previously released Shelter thread.

Faceman, I reported a post of yours asking for more Shelter Thread releases, hoping that it would be released in 4 weeks and we could all have a small chuckle. Conveniently, the database was lost.

Was the "person" reporting all the posts poodle again?

Choosing to not micro-manage the Red Room is a decision, regardless of the fact you disagree with it.

One thread has now hit the four-week mark and I've moved it to the Thread Release forum.

There are several that are at three weeks. Those should be released next week.

Except that the argument wasn't to "micro-manage", it was to warn people for flagrant abuses of spam. So far, you've given no reason we don't have this rule other than that you're lazy and incompetent.

Well, he certainly likes to report posts, but its not just him now. However, there are several repeat offenders and most other WF members don't bother.

I'm always amazed by the sheer numbers of report posts. Reporting SPAM account attacks is one thing but the constant whining from some members is just stupid.

We don't have this rule because if you want that freedom of speech in there that everyone keeps gushing about, that also means you have to put up with the morons on the street corner yelling about the end times and/or lesbians all the time.

So, do what every other sane adult human being does with these guys and simply walk around them and ignore them. Engaging them only adds to the disruption.

Perhaps you missed the shelter thread where the new rule is to micromanage the red room and close threads and box others from people who aren't liked.

It's not that that bothers us so much, as the fact that the calendar for knowing which is which is kept secret. How can the rest of us know on which days we're supposed to protect him and on which days we're supposed to persecute him, when you won't publish the calendar?
