I was just thinking about this. I am the complete opposite of an adrenaline junkie. I like things calm, tranquil, slow and quiet. I need to sit down and concentrate to do any serious thinking/planning. No, it's not just old age...I've pretty much always been this way, except I used to love fast driving. My job has zero surprises or curveballs to speak of. It requires no fast responsesor dangerous activities.....just how I like things! Fishing is about as exciting an acticity can be for me - and I even do that very slowly.
I also fit that definition. Unfortunately my job has plenty of surprises, fire drills, panics, curveballs....
Is that the stuff in turkeys that makes you sleepy? I do love my naps. Falling asleep in general kicks ass IMO! I just love the sensation of losing consciousness, any time of day, any location.
Well I must say it's working for me. My blood pressure is low, my cholestoral is low, I make a pretty good living....can't complain I guess.
I never fish with live bait...only lures. Lues have to be cast out, then reeled in. Some guys fish like they're in a race, casting + retrieving rapidly. They end up missing a lot of spots (a foot or two can make a huge difference) or not giving the fish a chance to see the lure, let alone position themselves to eat it. Slow is almost always better (at least 90 percent of the time).
Oh. yea. I see what you're saying. When I'm 'forced' to fish, I, also, don't use live bait. I guess that's why I wondered how one could fish any slower ...
