Yes, believe it or not lots of people get on SSD claiming to be alcoholics but really just wanting free money because they are too lazy to work. The more ambitious ones then work under the table or smgrow pot or something for extra cash but like getting that government t check every two weeks.

Also, Castle said he was on SSD claiming some sort of eye condition prevented him from working. Apparently it also prevents him from writing or learning from past mistakes. I still think he has a major drug habit and thus the radical swings.

It is not just drunks. A lot of them are diagnosed ADD kiddies who have learned to game the system. Booze is fun, but it is nothing like some of the meds they give those kids discount. They walk across the country finding people who want to help them and their parents are all to eager to get them out and lock the door. You have to be fast with those fuckers also. You let them start claiming residence with their social security and it is damn near impossible to get them to leave your home. I have had to deal with a lot of these little con artists, and SSD does not give a flying fuck about a world full of evidence you show them that those kids can and do work. I have tried to get a few off the system, and no one wants that to happen because their jobs and income are based upon these bullshit diagnosis and keeping those people as patients forever.

One of the reasons I am able to move around a lot is I come into these situations on behalf of the land owner, or renter who ends up dealing with these little fucks. There are many nice people out there being taken advantage of, and those people who take advantage often know how to game the government too. Your high up politicians may like to clean up the system of these con artists, but your lower level people know that the more people hooked on the system the safer their job is. Still, gaming the system in regards to avoiding criminal charges while making someone's life miserable happens to be a skill I picked up. I figure that if a nice person is going to be willing to give of their own resources, it should at least be to the guest that cleans up their house. It makes it much easier to move when you do not have to worry about security deposits, utilities, and even the occasional free dinner.

The most I would ever be able to get from welfare would be less than 200 a month which could only be spent on food. I have thought about it, but it becomes problematic when you have cash. In your more rural states you can catch OTB work to get you by until the real work comes in. With Uber it actually becomes easier to do. That was my resort years ago when I started moving about a whole lot, but it becomes a pain in the ass over time.

I have helped people in terrible situations. A lot of knowledge comes from helping single moms. I do love the northeast diners and I respect waitresses. A lot of them are getting by with kids or college, and some were not aware they could use food stamps to cover things. It is hard for them to ask for help, but it is hard to learn the system if you do not. All of a sudden they have a kid on the way, or they are having car trouble, and they need just that bit more to get by. Normally the staff informs them, and I just learned from giving them rides and helping with my general knowledge of keeping a car together.

I have to admit i have given up on the career path. I like playing this role, and I find my future is far more secure relying on the good nature of the people i help rather than some job with no caring for it's workers, or a dream of a retirement that will be sucked dry by the money men. This means I have a first hand knowledge where the holes actually are in the system. It lets me know how full of shit the republicans are when they say they want to make things better by killing off welfare and social security. They know better than anyone that jail is far more expensive than welfare and SSD, and that is where poor people will end up more and more when you cut these programs.

Yes, I would imagine castle was on SSD. SSD actually has programs to help people get computers and other items that would let them get employment from home or in areas they could handle. Schooling is a way that money is funneled to corporations through SSD. There is no real result that has to come from trying to help the disabled, but there are always other people with big businesses who could get tax money.

I am actually a bit surprised. I would have bet @Dayton3 was already on SSD.

He has shuffled along as a fuck up in all of his jobs. I am pretty sure he is aware he has some mental troubles. He knows how to lie for a purpose. He exposes his crazy as a badge.

Some of these behaviors are common to your normal system scammer. Some of them actually become requirements of a person in the system. I think it is the last one that gives me that feeling. Outpatient crazies often fall back on their illness when someone corners them. It is a defense mechanism that is often taught to them through years of being in the system. A person who does not want to be on the system and wants to be self reliant is not eager to claim they are defective. A person who has given up or wants to be cared for uses their crazy as a shield for sympathy from people like you.

Dayton is clearly a user, and he has some of his victims here. This is why he comes back. He may have to take a few hits to his rep, but he gets something out of his relationship with some of the people around here. Like I said, you are an easy mark chuppie. You feed yourself on some moral air biscuits because you do not mercilessly rip apart a real POS like dayton. It is lovely to do this on the internet because you really do not get the real life problems from dealing with a person like him.

The reality is if someone like me (just using an example) were to go full on into dayton and that destroyed him you would love it. Then you would get to chastise and punish them while blowing up your image as a caring and good hero. The reality is you would never help dayton to begin with, and you use him for that purpose. I am figuring this is why dayton was temp banned while castle was permabanned. Castle either lost his white knights or they found no use for white knighting him anymore because he had become that bad. Dayton still has his white knights who get off on pitying him.

I think it is more Dayton is obviously lacking in social skills probably because he is high functioning autism spectrum which makes it very difficult for him to understand where he is going wrong. Those sorts of people generally need a lot of rules as they have difficulty navigating complex social situations on their own so religion and political ideologies appeal to them.

Self examination is difficult because they genuinely don't fully understand what they are doing wrong so that often comes off as being pig headed or arrogant. Likely that is what is rubbing employers wrong but that is just my guess. One learned process which can help these people is to write stuff down. They have a tendency to dismiss things out of hand without really considering them but writing stuff down slows the process down, prevent ts people from forgetting, and kind of forces them to really reflect and consider a point. Just my $0.02.

Never good to hear about someone getting the boot, especially when they've a family, so here's hoping his next job is more suitable to his personality and psychological issues.
