    I wrote these for my forum so that we could post video from the major news media outlets. I don't know if anyone is interested but thought I'd share in case there are any people who want it for this forum or another.

    Be warned -- most of the default examples are Hillary related :P since she is one of my inspirations, but they can work for just about any video program the networks have on their webpages:

    There's a few to start. They may be helpful as we get closer to November, though please feel free to disregard.

    Most of those use HTML, which is disabled for user posts here. This is common on Bulletin Boards for security reasons.

    With that said, I've always wished it could be selectively enabled to folks trusted not to screw up the board.

    ^^ Ok, well there you go.

    I guess I just figured that BB Codes were the one place HTML was ok -- that that is what BB codes were for in fact -- because the BB Code Manager structures the codes in such a way that HTML is only permitted according to the parameters that you set in the replacement field? Or something.

    Anyhow, I have no idea about all this, so don't quote me. I was just surprised I could get these to work on my Vbulletin CMS in the first place! LOL.

    If it is an HTML issue, or for that matter, there is no interest, then that's cool.

    I'm not thrilled with the ones for Frontline and Fox (well, from a technical standpoint I like them, just not from a security standpoint). 60 mins is missing the {param}. I can see one place where it should go, but if you could make sure that's the only place, that'd be good. And are you sure the CBS one is right?

    ^^ You tell me Mr. O2C, you're the one who explained to me what these things even mean in the first place when you helped me out with Hulu embed! All I was able to come up with my limited knowledge when it comes to BB codes is the manual labor of going through the individual codes for each of the media outlets.

    That said, I will look into the Frontline/Fox/and CBS ones in the morning/when I am sober...

    Well, as we all know, no-one here can be trusted not to screw up the board. Even the owner. :calli:

    It's bits like this:
    id="msnbc46ed3d"
    <param name="movie" value="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32545640">
    tag=contentBody;featuredPost-PE&releaseURL=http://cnettv.cnet.com/av/video/cbsnews/atlantis2/player-dest.swf&videoId=50086124,50085815,50085814,50085813,50085499,50086125
    http://widgets.clearspring.com/o/4ae8d36a3102598f/
    id="W4ae8d36a3102598f4bc26014417818ee"
    id="msnbc6d66ea"
    src="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32545640" (in both MSNBC and meet the press)
    http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/...ws/atlantis2/player-dest.swf&videoId=50087373

    If those are different for every video (and I think they would be), the embed codes simply aren't usable.

    That said, once I look carefully at Fox and frontline, they should be just fine.

    In the MSNBC one I think the "id/32545640" is a reference to their web player "MSNBC TV." At least, if I were to make an educated guess, that's what I think it was referring to, but I could be wrong.

    However, I did go the MSNBC web player page (where they keep a good chunk of their videos) and was able to get a video embed on my forum with that embed code from each of the categories on the left hand side: (Top Videos, Most Viewed, Weird News, My Playlist, US News, World News, Politics, Business, Sports, Tech & Science, Entertainment, Health, Travel, Weather, TODAY, Nightline News, Countdown, msnbc TV, Meet The Press, and Dateline)

    I think the CBS one is ok also (I won't have time to double check that one), but the 60 minutes one I think may be one that is problematic. Off the top of my head, I think what happened there is I took a short cut in a rush to get Hillary videos posted and just hardcoded the video file (I think the {param} is missing). So no matter what you post with that code, it will always be Hillary's 60 Minutes interview.

    The others should be ok though, I've posted several videos with the CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, FOX ones etc. Glad to hear the Frontline and FOX ones are good.
