I specifically remember how dismissive you were of the need for health care reform when you were gravely ill (it's good that you are doing well enough to post here). I found your assumption that because you were able to get the financial assistance you needed because of your faith that no one else needs it either to be disgustingly self-centered.

He got charity from folk at his church to help meet his medical bills. So assumes charity will cover everyone in need of healthcare.

Take your pick: 1) if it worked for him, it would work for everyone. 2) if you die for lack of funds it's your own fault for not having faith

That's what I got, too. In fact, when I heard it for the first time on the radio , it didn't even register.

It's no surprise this blew up like it did, however.

Even if you think the comment directed at McCain (not Palin) was intended to reference Palin (a stretch) in this case McCain would be the pig and Palin the lipstick.

Again. Context matters. Just because y'all tried to make something out of nothing doesn't mean everyone is.

Yeah, he's really looking foolish trying to defend that. Let's face it, if the roles were reversed, so would his opinion.

    Again, context matters:

"John McCain says he's about change, too," Obama said. "And so I guess his whole angle is, 'Watch out, George Bush! Except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy, and Karl Rove-style politics, we're really going to shake things up in Washington.'"
"That's not change," Obama said. "That's just calling something the same thing something different. But you know, you can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, it’s still going to stink after eight years. We’ve had enough of the same old thing."

    https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-...-theres-lipstick-on-a-pig-its-this-mccain-ad/

Why I said it was a quite a stretch to say it was about Palin. However the righties on here made a big deal (11 page thread) about it.

Please explain why you think the quote was directed at Palin and even if it was, how she being the pig makes sense in context?

Wow, when placed into context that is not about Palin at all. However, the monkey it up comment was directly related to electing the black man as governor. I remember when the right wing was chopping up everything Obama said to try and make fake outrage and take his quotes out of context. It is just standard projection that they think others have to do it to them when you really do not.

Republicans are the ones with the fake outrage, and they keep making shit up. I think it was said best by their Lord and master's lawyer when he said the truth is not the truth.

Just when I thought I was having a great morning Tererun somehow manages makes it even greater by this:
"Republicans are the ones with the fake outrage, and they keep making shit up."

Considering the source raises the humor level of that sentence to eleven!

If Howard Dean can blow his chance at the White House over the way he pronounced one word, what makes anyone think this guy can't have his gubernatorial chances smashed by this?

You can do better trhan that. We have seen the fake outrage the right wingers can do. One of the best is how Hillary has endangered the safety of our country with her private email server while Trump has been using his private phone and emails to contact the Russians. Then there is the fake outrage over Obama not allowing the Iranians to get nukes while Trump dismantled that and has allowed north Korea to keep on doing theirs.

It is fake outrage when you are not doing shit about him. You are the party of faux outrage. Your entire opinion news industry is dedicated to fake scandals, lies, and fake outrage. But do keep up denying your racism and lies. It is probably one of the things you are best at.

Oldfella is a perfect example of a sensitive Trump supporter who demands respect and politeness and open-mindedness and candycoated arguments from the other side, while offering no such considerations in return.

It's worthless trying to change his mind on anything. He's only worth debating for the sake of the moderates that might read his drivel and not immediately see him for what he is. :async:
