Dang ... in the process of looking up that old thread with the virginity innuendo aimed at TKO, I remembered:

1) Just how many people threw a fit about Listkeeper changing the thread title.

2) Just how far Volpone's "tee hee hee, I said something that sounds like a bad word" routine goes back.

She was obviously complicated. I have to wonder if being a smart, capable person whose physical problems prevented her from really using her mental abilities led to a lot of frustration as well as an unhealthy fixation on the board.

She bought pretty heavily into the "I'm a girl who's one of the guys," "harassment doesn't bother me because I'm tough," "I don't get along with most other women" archetype, all of which can roll into a hell of a toxic brew. And it's not hard to see how that internalized misogyny, combined with the personal frustrations, could lead to some shitty behavior toward others.

But the way she would go to the mat for Nova definitely showed another side.

Tamar definitely isn't unique on the whole "not like other girls" schtick. The vast majority of women I meet who lean in on that were usually weird nerd girls hurt by other girls in high school and never got over it. That, or they were millennials born after 1988 who bought into the idea that hating Disney made them #edgy or something. I know she mentioned her father openly resented having a daughter when the son before her was born with Downs and she spent her childhood trying to be a boy to please him. Here's my two weird Storm PM moments...

I can't remember WTF innocuous thing we were talking about, and he told me he loved me.

And I said something like "okay, man", like I took it as a drunk guy going "I love you, man",

But then he said "no, I REALLY love you", and I still shrugged it off with an "..all right then".

It took a couple more times for him to cool off, and back down.

I dunno if he was really gay for me, or he was messing with me to see my reaction, or what.

Then another time, he showed me a picture of his daughter.
Like no "look how big my daughter is getting", or nothing, just bam, pic, no comment.
And she was all like child beauty pageant-ed up, and I think that shit is gross, and dancing the edge of pedophilic, but it's a southern thing, and he's a Texan, so, whatever.
I shrugged that off with something like "cute kid, she's getting big", or something like that.

And he seemed to want some other reaction, and wasn't getting it, and I...felt kinda creeped out.
Like..did he want me to say she was hot or something?
She was a goddamned baby.

I dunno, I was more...autism-y then, and knew less how to handle my shit, so I didn't trust my interpretations.
But looking back...it's still weird.

The more I read of this and all his enablers (along with the reminder on how gross the TKO thing was) the more I understand why radfems exist.

While as much fun as it might be to say that if you'd just "taken one for the team" and given storm a blowjob you could have prevented him from turning Nazi, I don't think that was the case.

Storm was most likely beholden to the idea that all liberals are "closet homos" or "closet pedos" and was attempting to prove this by targeting you with his messages. When you didn't take the bait for the first, he went for the second.

So glad that this was after I'd quit as uber mod in frustration after some Tamar shit.
