If you live anywhere near Omaha, Nebraska, you're welcome. I just assured you a 10 year snowfall drought. [?=big pictures] [/?]
You know, they are a little noisier than I was expecting for an all terrain. But then, I was used to my bald-ass Goodyears. I think you might be generalizing in ignorance there, bud. I chose these particular tires in part because of their manners on the road. They're supposed to be at their best on wet or snowy pavement.
BFGoodrich AT tires kick ass on asphalt. But they aren't cheap. I want a set of those for my Tundra, but I can't afford them right now.
That's a no-shitter. Kee-rist. Put it off as long as I could. Shitty old Goodyears were starting to show cords, wouldn't hold a balance anymore, and were flexible enough when warmed up that they'd catch a bump in the road just and start up an oscillation that would wobble the whole frontend. Bad enough that I need another replacement stablizer 4 years after the first one I put on. Drives like a whole new truck now.
As for the price, yeah, I could've gone a lot cheaper, but they wouldn't have worked as well or lasted as long, and I intend to be relying on this Jeep as my daily driver until I can't buy gasoline for it anymore. The cost is also somewhat offset by the fact that it's paid off and doesn't require monthly payments anymore.
Nice tires! By the way, is it physcally possible for your to make this expression IRL? Can you actually do the color changes, and the steam effect?
Well, I'm a pale guy, and my head does turn red when I get too...tense. I could only manage the steam thing on a really cold day, right after a hard workout, though. Then it looks like I was just pulled out of boiling water.
That's actually just two tires, photographed at different angles. I'm such a good fucking driver, I only need two. I bought four. Four instead of five. Didn't want to pay an extra $130 for a spare, the old spare was decent enough to leave hanging back there, and I didn't wanna fuck with 5-tire rotations anyway.
Jesus, man. 37 inches?!? Do you drive something that can clear those in stock form, or is it a lifted truck?
Do you have something against tire sidewalls? Edging into gangsta rims territory, aintchya? I don't drive a fucking Peterbilt to work every day.
I've still got the Bridgestone Duellers that my truck rolled off the assembly line with. They're getting a little worn too. Here lately, every time I take it offroad and run into a little mud, I have to put it in 4WD or I'm sliding all over the place.
I was the same way in the snow a couple of weeks ago. Pissed me right the fuck off. I....er....uh....
It's all the bigger it needs...plus I got 4 for what you paid for one. They're just about a year and half old, now...I can't see very much wear.
Define "need". I don't think 30" tires are unreasonable for an area where I could potentially see 12+ inches of snow.
