What? People don't protest when cops are actually on track to being held accountable for their crimes? What a shock.
Indeed. The entire "surprise testimony" is so rare that its something that lawyers telling their war stories exclaim "No way!!" when they hear it.
When one party fails to uphold their end of the social contract, should there be no consequence for that? Also, you're still the guy that proposed military action against countries that wouldn't accept deportees from the US, so you can get off your high horse.
The man was found innocent. What you are saying is you want a lynch mob because facts and reality do not matter to you.
I know, that's why I want them to burn down the courthouse as well. Fuck the crooked judiciary right along with the crooked cops they're protecting.
http://dailycaller.com/2017/09/16/blm-protesters-attack-st-louis-mayors-house-hurl-bricks-at-police/ okay, protesters attacked the mayor's house - happy now 14th Doctor? The mayor is in charge of and employs local police so they went right to the source. Damn I'm glad I don't live in St. Louis! Place seems like a total shit-hole on every level. That said, if (work with me here) if that cop hadn't said a word....nothing....just kept his mouth shut during the entire incident and still killed the guy 99 percent of the people would say "good riddance to bad rubbish/fucker had it coming" for killing the suspect upon finding out he tried to kill the cops first and had a lengthy history of violence. Seriously, cops have to realize EVERYTHING THEY SAY WILL BE USED AGAINST THEM IN A COURT OF LAW. Fuck, they say it enough - don't they realize that with modern technology EVERYTHING THEY SAY CAN BE RECORDED 24/7? Bottom line WHAT YOU SAY trumps WHAT YOU DO. It shows possible intent, attitude, motivation, prejudice, etc.etc. Have the fucking discipline to shut the fuck up! Yes being a cop is a hard, dangerous job. You will deal with people that hate you, and want you dead. Kind of like the military, but with less pay and more danger. Okay and the physical fitness standards for cops aren't as high as the military, so they "get over" in that area. People that don't hate cops will still try to kill them to escape capture - that's their job, they are criminals. Maybe a good portion of future police training should be in learning to shut the fuck up under pressure! Hell even that cop who made a joke about "we only shoot black people" was about one of the stupidest things I've heard in quite a while.
U2 and Ed Sheeran cancels concert https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2017/09/16/u-2-cancels-st-louis-show/673399001/ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4891152/U2-cancels-St-Louis-concert-Stockley-protests.html Protesters in mall & US DOJ has said they will not investigate the shooting. (they already did back in 2012) https://apnews.com/82041d6fe9694ff8...braces-for-more-protests-over-cop's-acquittal
Welp. Whether the verdict/acquittal was the right call to make, shit's going down. And it's a situation that has probably been simmering for a long time. If acquittal was the right call to make, the St Louis PD should have anticipated the massive image and perception issue they'd be dealing with and worked hard to fix it before the verdict came down.
The St. Louis cops can't fix their image & perception. It's a lost cause unless every-single-cop killing a black case is such a "slam dunk" for the prosecution that the cop goes to prison. Better yet to wipe the slate clean no black even gets arrested, or cops cannot carry guns. Damn if that doesn't show that the cops are serious about equal treatment nothing will!
http://crooksandliars.com/2017/09/protests-erupt-st-louis-following-yet I don't condone violence against cops. That said, I don't agree with oldfella's post either. The Metropolitan Police in the UK had a loooonnnggg record of racism but they managed to overcome it (largely) by FUCKING ADMITTING IT and dropping this band of brothers BS when it came to bad cops.
so the cops had a long record of racism taken to the extremes of killing minorities? And minorities hated cops to the point where they often killed cops in return? Thus the "us versus them" was literally perceived (if inaccurately) as a mater of life-and-death? That's pretty much the watermark for "a record of racism" that inspires violent protests on this side of the pond.
I care because I am going. I missed Kaaboo thos weekend because they were sold out but I was able to get U2 tickets.
