Yeah, that could just have easily been Nechayev, and nothing would have changed. Which reminds me, I miss Nechayev. She could be a little sneery and bitchy sometimes, but she wasn't evil or insane like a lot of the other admirals.
Ope, trailer detail I didn't notice. I mean, I faintly did, but there was so much to take in (nevermind the other trailers), I couldn't hold it in my memory. In the first promo images of holo-Janeway, she has the Voyager badge, but in the actual show, she has this new gold badge. Now! We see Jankem Pog find and hold up this badge..... ....then we see Rok Tak tap it against a console.... ...and then Janeway appears. Soooo, I'm thinking the badge is holo-Janeway's mobile emitter. Why did the preview material have her with the Voyager badge? Nostalgia feels. Hey, the Infinity War trailer had Hulk instead of Hulkbuster-Banner. They lie sometimes. Fun little note, I can't remember which one, but one of the TNG novels had that you could tap a badge against a console to get at volume controls, call logs, preferred computer voice, universal translator, etc, etc, etc. Neat to see this finally get into canon.
I had to look that up. Definitely some similarities in concept, but honestly, I think the Jim Henson Company is stretching it. (Unlike Discovery, which totally ripped off Tardigrades. Paramount just had better lawyers than Anas Abdin.)
Well, so much for the fan theory that Protostar was a rescue ship for Voyager. The showrunners themselves said it left Earth after "Endgame". So now I dunno know WTF is going on anymore. https://trekmovie.com/2021/09/16/in...otostar-holo-janeway-and-how-the-show-is-big/
See? Per my post in the Random Trek Discussion thread, Star Trek is already being merged into the MCU in anticipation of Disney's purchase of Paramount.
Character posters just in case you haven't memorized everyone already. Plus, glimpses around the ship. Source. https://trekmovie.com/2021/09/26/check-out-new-star-trek-prodigy-character-posters/
Week from tomorrow, Prodigy finally premieres. Plus, here's a Kate Mulgrew interview. https://trekmovie.com/2021/10/20/in...-janeway-is-fully-alive-in-star-trek-prodigy/
If it's all the way in the DQ, it's got to have some slipstream or transwarp or artificial wormhole creation or spatial trajector system in order to get there in the first place. It'd make sense if the ship was a testbed for all the technology Voyager discovered but didn't have the resources to implement back them.

Shitload of clips, too many to link here. And one of 'em is an Instagram, and I ain't messing with that shit. https://trekmovie.com/2021/10/25/watch-new-clips-and-character-promos-for-star-trek-prodigy/ We finally got the jobs/positions of the characters. Dal = Captain Gwyn = Communication Officer Zero = Navigator Jankom-Pog = Engineer Rok-Tahk = Science Officer Murf = Um...mascot? Still no doctor. How are they gonna get cured of funky virii? Unless Murf is made of magic ointment.
Be a helluva surprise for them to keep under wraps. BUT! Discovery kept the Vok/Tyler thing secret for a surprisingly long time.
Definitely geared toward a younger audience. Animation is good. I think I need to give it a few more episodes before I really form an opinion. On its own, I doubt it would have received much attention if it didn't have the "Star Trek" label on it.
yeah.. don't hate it, but it's not particularly inspired and the voice characterizations are a little generic to the characters themselves. Also maybe a little too familiar in the voice casting? I like the Medusan but wondering how a teenage Tellarite made it to the delta quad? Are they going back for the kitty?
Acknowledging that the "vibe" is very much a sort of Clone Wars tale... I like it. Considerably better than Lower Decks by a considerable margin. (a bit too "action movie" for my tastes but that's basically what modern Trek is now)
