It was in the finale, Endgame.
They didn't say what he died of, but Seven's death broke him, so my head-canon was sadness cancer.
Similar to what killed Padme, but slower.

Garrett, if the rumors are true, you were lucky to make all seven years of Voyager. Why would you think that the Trek powers that be would want to have you back for a major role? Especially one that would cause distractions and discontent among the fan base?

No, I mean the Bonz story that Beltran got paired with Seven because he hated the character.

Heard a lotta other stories, like one of the writers being pissed that he wasn't invited to do Enterprise and put it in as a fuck you to Brannon Braga specifically.

Are we sure Garrett isn't joshing about wanting to play Sulu? He's got a bit of a jokey streak.

I just read a transcript of one of The Delta Flyers podcasts with him and Robert Duncan McNeill (Paris) and it's interesting how they focus not only on how Kim and Paris were underutilised but also Neelix and Chakotay - they really nail what could have been done with those characters.

    This bit was great too:

The pic that accompanied the tweet was him with a big grin, so it's certainly possible he was joking.

Another tweet from that panel talked about how Kim should be on Lower Decks as the world's oldest ensign. And that could actually be pretty funny, if he was transferred to the Cerritos for a hot second and was still an ensign.

That could be the one punishment that scares Mariner into behaving for a while, getting assigned to "permanent ensign" duty alongside Harry Kim.

Why does there have to be villains, I’m so sick of Star Trek having villains.

Y'know, I'm thinking back to 1995, and the Prodigy opening is what I wanted the Voyager opening to be.
High octane song, ship going hella fast.
Voyager opening, song is going slow, ship is going slow, and my 20 year old self was like "aw, come on!! Step on the fucking gas!!".
The Voyager opening grew on me, and I like it okay now, but the Prodigy opening is what I wanted back then.

There are legitimate criticisms about how Voyager panned out, but I always loved the intro. With the exception of Enterprise, I don't think any of the TV or movie intros has been not good.

Of course the best intro will always be the intro music from First Contact

Really? Some of you folks actually like VOY?

Seriously, the best thing the Trek franchise could ever do is to just forget that VOY and ENT ever happened.

Speaking of the Enterprise intro, a lotta latecomers to that show seem to love it unironically and Im just like....whut :wtf:

I mean....I don't LIKE Voyager per se but in retrospect, I find that it was less irrideemable trash and more "a graveyard of broken dreams," to quote from Anne of Green Gables.

There was so much untapped potential to push the boundaries even further than DS9 did, considering it's location and the involuntary merging of two crews with two completely different set of values but the show was TNG part 2 by the end of it's 2nd episode.

For all it's flaws, Enterprise at least made good on a simmering conflict between the humans and the Vulcans, a thread that was there even through it's final season.

Until Discovery the Voyager theme was my favorite from any of the series. I'm looking forward to hearing what they come up with for the Pike show.

If your question is directed at me, maybe it's because overall I quite enjoy TOS, TNG, DS9, Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks and the majority of the films.

So the fact that I intensely dislike VOY and ENT, and give the odd critique of other shows, means somehow I don't like Trek? :wtf:

EDIT: We're talking about a 50+ year-old franchise. The fact that they've had a few misfires is not to be unexpected.

I like Chocolate. Overall, I quite enjoy candybars, brownies, hot chocolate, and a majority of chocolate.

So, the fact that I intensely dislike chocolate covered raisins and chocolate chip cookies does not mean that I would go into every single fucking thread about chocolate and complain about how much I dislike them.

It's fine to have an opinion. But, like every other thing, if you continue to repeat it when someone brings it up just makes you look like a jackass.

    ANYWAY...

The third nacelle on the ship is pretty funky. Wonder what the explanation for it will be...
