Thewife and I were talking about potential Kirks the other night when she saw me reading this thread. Fast-forward to this afternoon and I was watching the first Serenity and she ask me "Why wouldn't they just get him (Fillion) for Kirk?"

I nodded my agreement and smiled knowing the reaction such news would get here. Frankly, I don't think he'd be a bad choice, but I would be ecstatic if he was chosen more for the reaction here than I would be to see him associated with Star Trek.

You know that scream Kirk made in The Wrath of Khan?

I'll only get excited when it's confirmed the Shat will make an appearance in the movie. If that never happens, I'll be decidedly unenthusiastic about the whole thing.

Well, there were only three TOS films: 2, 3, and 6. I still can't figure out why they numbered them that way. Must be some nerd thing.

I thought 4 was pretty good and 3 was pretty lame.

4 was good, but it was more of a tour around the Bay Area than a Trek movie.

I was in Alameda on the 4th of July and me and my friend started quoting the nuclear wessles scene. "Oh I think they're across the bay in...Alameda." "That's what I said the nuclear wessles in Alameda..."

Once upon a time (about 1993/4?), when the similarly-sized U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln was moored at Alameda, I got to go on board for a personal tour of her. Going up to the ship, I kept thinking that same line: "nuclear wessel."
