As the Clone Wars rage throughout the fractured sectors of the OLD REPUBLIC, Anakin Skywalker is completing his training as a Jedi Knight under the tutelage of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Unbeknownst to the Jedi, the evil lord DARTH SIDIOUS has secretly awaited this moment. With Skywalker ready to enter a blighted galaxy plagued with darkness and strife, he has schemed to ensure that the young Jedi will be sorely tempted by the dark side of the Force.

Swept up by the chaos of war, young Skywalker has no idea that that the Dark Lord has set his sights upon him from afar. Little does he know that he is already caught in a trap designed to strain his newfound loyalties and guide him firmly onto the path of darkness….

Chapter 2

okay-starting off reffing "Darksaber" is win... gonna burn through the rest now!

nah, it actually makes a lot of sense for anyone who catches it. Why wouldn't it be a design step to make the laser first and then put the housing around it?

You'll see in the next chapter- it's a smaller prototype, not a full-on planet buster. The entire weapon is only about as big as an Imperial Star Destroyer, but it seems bigger by CW standards.

I'm actually about halfway through Chapter 4 right now- a LOT has happened as the first act winds down. I've been on a bit of a tear; it's just a slower process to go back, wordsmith, re-edit, and then post.

sorry, that was meant as rhetorical... it really does make sense.

I rewrote the last half of this chapter 4 fucking times before I got it the way I wanted it.

btw... really like some of the character foreshadowing being dropped in. Anakin getting just a little big for his britches. The sequence on dh3/p3 with Bail Organa... kind of had that moment when a boy breaks his father's sword...

'strue... of all your stuff I've read there's very few, if any of those little errors. I catch the occasional spelling mistake, but those don't count really.

My only real criticisms of any of your work is a tendency to some earthcentric words/ideas (conversely, story specific expletives help maintain the setting), and the obligatory hero getting some tends to be a little, I don't wanna say stale... but from story to story well, it feels like stock footage sometimes.

Well, Anakin sort of needs to 'get some' at some point in order to have the OT. That being said, I am somehwhat formulaic sometimes in that I like my heroes to be Big Damn Heroes who ride off into the sunset with the girl at the end. Or themes to that effect.

There's the Twilight Series for all the emo, testosterone-depleted kids out there...

Chapter 5 is done and mostly edited- needs one more look and it'll be up. Hopefully within 48 hours although I'm back on the road right now.

Chapter 6 raw is 80% done; I'm afraid I may have written myself into a bit of a corner on one point and I'm mulling over the best way to resolve it.

Actually, there are a couple of places where I use 'Starlance' more as a definition than a name for ease of syntax. I know what you're referring to, but in some places it seemed less clunky to use one word instead of saying 'Separatist weapon' or 'Separatist Superlaser' yet again.

Chapter 6 is done and in the editing stage. Up soon.

Chapter 6

Chapters 7 and 8 are done in the raw and undergoing editing. I have to say that the story ran in a little bit of an unexpected direction here, one that may affect my eventual treatment of Episode III. Sometimes the story just tells itself and takes you unexpected places, or maybe to an expected place a little earlier than you planned...

Chapter 8

This is what the prequels should have been. Great work, Marso!

I'm deep into the frenetic, action filled third act. Matters are racing toward their resolution- at least in terms of EP II. Chapter 9 is done in the raw and I'm about halfway done with Chapter 10.

Man, it took me 4-EVER to get around to doing this one, but once it gelled in my head it's just been spilling out! I'll have to go back and see how long it took me to do EP I from start to finish, but I think I may (or will) have cranked this one out even faster.

I don't think I like it quite as much as the first one, but I am happy with where the overall storyline is going...
