Excellent news. Reverse discrimination suits are going to hit people who think they "is" gay hard one day. Hit 'em in the pocket book.
Exactly, down to the fucking molecule, as much of a discrimination case as it would be if the roles were reversed. There is no difference, and if you mock this case, you also mock cases of workplace discrimination against gays.
Hey, I agree. But if I'm expected to act like I give a shit every time someone of a different sexual preference feels slighted in the workplace, it has to work both ways. Either it's no big deal for gays and straits, or it's a big deal for both. No tolerance for double standards.
Context matters. Your gay friends are joking with you and don't have the power to affect your livelihood.
That's true, it has to work both ways or it's hypocrisy. It it was a straight boss calling a gay employee a "fag", it's be an instant lawsuit win. ETA: Or if the employee called the boss a "fag", it be instant grounds for justified firing.
Yes, that's a very good point. it's just that people are so...offensensitive...and lawsuit happy these days, I always wonder if it was said maliciously or someone just over reacted. But in this case, it was used repeatedly (apparently) and I guess if the employee asked the boss to stop. Sucks people have to be so bigoted. And sucks people still have to walk around on eggshells around each other because of it.
