Across Italy, students are taking over high schools and universities, protesting planned cuts by the government. In some cases, lessons have continued outside school walls on steps and in plazas.

 I've heard an awful lot of students from other parts of Europe who had to spend time at an Italian university as part of their course complaining bitterly about the experience... Don't get me wrong, I love Italy and I love Italians, but I'd be the last to claim that they were the most organised people...

No. That would be your point. Was your education funding cut, too?

Yea, Don Silvio wants to cut 8 billion from the education budget. I wonder how he plans to funnel it to the Mafia. Another bridge like the one to Sicilia?

Oh, so you were making the point that Americans are probably the only people on Earth who think being monolingual is an *asset*. Got it.

Yes, and with that lack of fire hoses, its a wonder Italy doesn't burn to the ground. ;) People always wanting the government to give them free shit when that are healthy and able to work :jayzus:

Ah, the "Ignorant American" stereotype pops out during off-the-cuff insults.

Do you write speeches for Obama/Biden '08?

We'll see similar scenes here and more when the government gravy train ends in 2010 or 2012.

Remember folks: if you disagree, it's because you're ignorant.
