Does Earth have a new friend? An astrophysicist says it's likely that an as-yet undiscovered planet exists on the dark fringes of our solar system, messing with the orbits of celestial bodies in the Kuiper Belt, just beyond Neptune. Rodney Gomes says the new planet could be anywhere from half to four times the size of Earth and is likely a rogue planet that floated over from another solar system. Other space scientists say Gomes' findings may be a lot of hot air and aren't sure his calculations support his theory. Buzzkills. We already lost Pluto. Stop playing with our hearts. Give us the new guy

Hay, I dont care where the 9th planet came from, I just want my elementary anagram to work again. :weep::fantasyworld:

There are people who have been going on about this for years. I'm not sure that they have much credibility.

There are likely to be a lot of "dwarf" planets lurking beyond Pluto (some bigger than Pluto which we've already found) but I doubt there's anything of the scale suggested here.

From what Ive heard, the guy is amazing with his calculations and while other scientist think it is possible (and really cool :shakes:) there still isnt enough proof, but atleast they acknowledge that his formula is possible. :shakes:

"Man Very Early Made Jars Stand Upright, Nearly Perpendicular" or "Mother Very Thoughtfully Made A Jelly Sandwich Under No Protest"?

    EDIT:
    Ok, that's a new one I didn't know.

I wonder how many there are in all?

To be precise, Jupiter to the Sun includes Mars, as well as Mercury, Venus and Earth. It is Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and (debatably) Pluto which are excluded.

What does Clyde have against Uranus? :weep:

    Anyone remember the original Vulcan?

A theorised planet inside the orbit of Mercury that was required to make Newtonian physics match the elliptical orbits of the inner planets.

    Then Einstein came along :)

Yes, I remember hearing about it. But long before I was on the scene, it had been determined that it did not exist.
