Tapatalk and Rep

    Curious regarding the hacks on the board to enable rep and interaction with other boards. Is our implementation that screwed up that you can't use the rep function from tapatalk or is it something else? Can this be fixed?

    I think that Tapatalk doesn't support rep because rep itself is, quite possibly, the least used vB function. The hack that allows it to be displayed on each post is not a vB function at all. It's a user created system.

    Either way, your issue will be with the owners of Tapatalk, not WF or vB.

    None of the boards with rep that I visit have it in tapatalk. I think the tapatalk system is pretty limited and intentionally so, because it has to work across so many platforms.

    From my iPad/iPhone rep doesn't really work in browser mode either. It's impossible to write a comment (each time you add a single letter it scrolls back to the top of the page) and 90% of the time clicking to give rep gives an error.

    Yep. Using Safari and Chrome, rep simply doesn't work, son I use Tapatalk.

    Yes, but you have to know the trick, which is not being made public right now. I do believe I am about the only one of WF who knows it (even Tamar and Lanz are not aware of this trick). Since I don't negrep people, that's how come no one has noticed that I figured out the gimmick. For a certain fee (payable in advance), I could be persuaded to think about telling it to you.

    So how much is it worth?

    We use a rep hack, not vbulletin supported rep. That's the issue.

    I usually hold the rep button until the menu appears that allows me to open the link on a separate page. Then you can add a comment to the rep with no problem, but you have an extra page open that you have to close . Small quibble, but it works.
