They lasted longer than occupy, but in the end they too were taken over by the nutters. (yes, I know the moonbats think they were nutters from the beginning, but they're idiots)
Considering it was filled with birthers and such from the very beginning, I'm going to say that the "moonbats" as you put it, were correct.
Huh. I'm not sure that site gives a lively, functional impression. But I'll follow it and get to know it in greater detail -- thanks for pointing it out.
A good piece from Nate Silver on how the term Tea Party has outlived it's usefulness: http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/tea-party-has-outlived-its-usefulness/
And then one from a couple days on how Republican incumbents are under more thread than ever: http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/...-than-ever-to-worry-about-primary-challenges/
Yep, the Libertarian/Republican Justin Amash (Arab American) just won his primary challenge against a Chamber of Commerce Republican who labeled Amash "Al Qaeda's Best Friend in Congress". He also held no quarter when he accepted that guy's concession speech. It ain't Tea Party pushing the Republicans. It's someone else.
Don't forget had a few rapes...lots of illegal drug use and trashed a few parks and other public places. (wasn't there even a death or two?) But remember...the TEA party was all bad from the beginning...so sayeth the moonbats...including those in this thread.
The TEA Party has actually accomplished a great deal...by eroding the GOP faster than it can undermine itself.
What happened to the Tea Party and Occupy is what happened to MADD and the NAACP: good ideas getting hijacked by lunatics. The woman that founded the former walked away in the '90s because what began as education on impaired drinking became a campaign to all but return to Prohibition. That was never her intent, even after losing her kid to a DD. NAACP? Same thing. Best example was the Northern California chapter suing the State Fair committee for discrimination after taking Black hertitage night off the schedule--a night that saw more violence and fights and other stupid shit like assholes jumping on the tops of others' vehicles. I'm black and even I wouldn't have gone out of my own personal safety. On the flip side, some things with roots in less than savory ideals have gone on to be of some good use....like Planned Parenthoods. Abortions aside, not everyone has access to birth control, even stuff like condoms. Without rampant diseases to cull the collective herd and fewer women at home following WWII, folks wanted smaller families.
Don't know about the others, but pretty sure Occupy was started by lunatics who happened to come up with some good ideas. :IMHO!:
The TEA Party may be down, but they aren't out. I'm willing to bet that the Dems still lose the Senate in the fall. Maybe the TEA Party would have better chance had the IRS not targeted them.
The most recent numbers on ElectionProjection.com show 50-48-2, which as things stand currently would mean a Democratic majority (since Sanders and King caucus with the Democrats and Biden would break the tie). Potentially, this outcome would make Angus King the most powerful person in Congress -- he has said he wouldn't rule out caucusing with Republicans in the future, and he would have the ability to swing the balance. (Bernie Sanders would never caucus with Republicans and everyone knows it.) However, while he's a centrist in New England, King would find very little in common with the Republican party on the national level.
