    Okay, installed Nero 8 today.

Trying to create a DVD out of that fan edit of SW EP IV. As near as I can tell it's an avi files, which as far as I know Nero Vision should support just fine.

When I go into Nero vision and try to load the file, the whole thing crashes to desktop. It doesn't do that with other files I tried experimentally. What might I be doing wrong here?

    Hmm.

If I were you, I'd just go back and download the ISO file.

Then open up the menu option in Nero (I have ver. 7 but it is probably the same thing) that says "burn image to disc" or something along those lines.

Then just drag and drop the .iso archive into your window, hit BURN, and you should be good to go.

But I'm no expert... I just figured this out today. Now, I need to go back and start DLing some more .iso files...

Ah, you must mean the awesome edit that put the movie back to its original release + some touchups.

If it's an avi, try just using the the nero core itself. It should convert it without trying to display it.

Tried that and it crashes Nero every time. I'm torrenting the DVD version of the file and we'll see how that goes.

If you can get your hands on ConvertXtoDVD it works great, though it takes a while.

I converted Andywan's Star Wars Revisited to a DVD for some friends.

Computer sez I have about 3 hours to go on the DL. For some reason this one refuses to do any better than about 70 kbs on the download. I got way faster with the avi version of the file.

What torrent client are you using?

Errr... I think he means, which BitTorrent program are you using. BitTorrent? Azureus? BitComet? BitLord?

Didn't know there was more than one. Which one is the best?

BTW, problem solved. Mods, after someone answers this last question, feel free to lock this bad boy.

I use Bitcomet. I used to use Azureus, but I switched. I like Bitcomet better than Azureus. Might have to look into uTorrent if that is what Ramen uses. I want to be like that guy. :)
