I have to wonder if his response would be the same if this were a male teacher accused of raping a female student.

And if a 17 year old girl was proud of sleeping with her 36 year old male teacher, does that make his actions any less wrong? Even if the boys were willing, this is still terrible judgment on her part. She's the adult, and should have had the sense to say "no."
