https://m.dailykos.com/stories/2018...e-all-from-Dem-counties?utm_campaign=trending shocking :| Also related: Despite having the second-largest population of any state, voter turnout is dead last in Texas. It's almost like this was by design!
I mean yeah, Republicans are finding it harder and harder to win elections fairly, so of course they'd rig the game.
Here is the news from a real journalistic source. So this organization didn't follow election law, their ballots were rejected(as they should have been) and now they have ten days to get it right? Stop your bitching and follow the law next time.
It's not as prominent as it should be, but that DailyKos article actually contains a real link to the local paper's story (same--or nearly the same--article as the Chronicle, because they're both owned by Hearst). Really shitty formatting from those people. Looks like DK staffs elementary school kids to run their website.
so they thought the law was unfair so they told people to circumvent the law thus screwing them over. Guarantee even though it was their fuck up, half the left will overlook that fact and use this as just one more example of how Republicans are evil and disenfranchised voters should have a different (easier) standard for voting than everyone else.
Very convenient that the article doesn't actually say why the state officials considered registrations were deficient, just merely stating some election rules without directly applying it to thousands of disenfranchised voters. And very convenient that you omitted the following paragraph: So even if that's the reason why they were denied their right to vote, it turns out to be a completely bullshit reason.
A family member has to vote by absentee. She's registered Democrat. Her absentee ballot request has been sent back twice so far, one because it was "incomplete," though we couldn't find anything that hadn't been properly filled out. The second time, it was said the signature wasn't a match. We live in a very red county. It could be nothing, could be something, but regardless it's the first time it has ever happened, and the deadline is fast approaching.
Have her register Republican and see if it goes through So now you admit the South fucks up ballots. Good to know.
Geez... There's nothing bullshit about making sure that the signature was provided by the actual applicant. A photograph can be easily doctored or touched up. Ive changed my registration multiple times due to changing locations and each time I had to provide a written signature that wasn't photographed. I didn't need a third party organization to help me do that either. They are now getting ten days to make it right. If these 2,400 signatures were legit, it shouldn't be hard to track down. But then that would require the organization to be efficient and theyve already proven that they are anything but.
And before Chad says it...... A "telephonic facsimile machine” which is a fancy way of saying fax is not a copy, digital signature or a photograph of a signature under the law. So if this group didn't submit the paperwork properly that's on them. They should have known better and been on the ball.
Again, you're ignoring literally the next paragraph of your own article. Why do you hate democracy? Why the blind adherence to fascist tactics?
Texas law seem quite clear to me. By personal delivery, mail or fax. All other forms of delivery are not valid. Again this group should have done one of those three. Than they wouldn't have had a problem.
No. That is the issue. This group submitted forms in an incorrect manner. That's their fault. That's on them. And telling me to read Daily Kos is stupid. It's like telling you to read WND. And while the lawyers for the group are crying foul they are themselves going back and fixing things right. "Still, they are changing the way they help Texas voters sign up by directing them to mail in a form that includes a handwritten signature." And look at this from the article: "Texas is already reporting a record surge in voter registration heading into the midterm elections. The state last week reported 15.6 million voters are registered for the 2018 midterm elections — about 1.6 million more than the last midterm election in 2014. Just since March, Texas has seen the voter rolls grow by about 400,000." OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Texas is just suppressing votes. Look at them prevent more people from voting!!!! This is just typical whining from lazy idiots who didn't make sure to follow the law to the letter on 2400 registrations.
If someone rejected applications from a Democrat area but not similar applications from Republican areas, that would be a problem. However, was the effort to increase voter registration that resulted in these applications conducted in all counties or just in Democratic ones? If it was an effort to increase Democratic voter registration then of course the applications would all be from Democratic counties.
Also if Republican registrations were rejected perhaps the Republicans didn't go crying to the media which is something the left is always doing. Also the Republicans probably made sure to follow the law exactly.
I hear Trump is making paper airplanes out of the paper copies of Democrat signatures that come in, and throwing them into a big KKK rally bonfire!
