And then it becomes a question of what solutions you propose. You cannot make a piece of property more attractive, and you cannot force someone to pay more than it is worth. You can attempt to raise the value with physical improvements, but that has the secondary effect of pricing locals out of their homes.

One example: there's been more than one case of a black homeowner looking to sell getting an appraisal, suspecting it was low, and removing all the racial cues from the home - one got a white friend to stand in and pretend to be the owner - and the same property appraises for tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands more.

That CAN be leveled, IF we acknowledge the problem and address it. It's not a matter of arbitrarily assigning a higher value to the house, it's a matter of taking the systemic racism out of the process.

Society is full of such fixable problems that do not involve any "unfairness" in the solution (as you use the concept)

You're not "just teaching history" when you include the subjective, imply or state outright that some of your students do not deserve their quality of life.


This one is easy: because it's a vehicle whereby white nationalist politicians (or craven jackasses who don't really care but are conscious of pandering to white nationalists) will use the mis-defined term in the dogwhistle laws in order to refer to ANY teaching of race-related ills as CRT.

For example, see the articles about how Texas is considering a bill in the special session that would strip virtually all references to civil rights figures and moments out of the required curriculum. None of that has a fucking thing to do with CRT, but CRT serves as a convenient cover to whitewash out anything that makes white bigots uncomfortable.

Or the case in TN in which a parent complained to the school board that a primary reader about Ruby Bridges was an example of CRT in elementary school.

and yet white folks are in a blind panic because white folks are not having as many kids as necessary to sustain economic growth without allowing "undesirables" more space in society.

(A) leaves not enough people to sustain economic growth and pay for the things everyone needs to have access to improving their lives. The one's who judged the other's useless would find that those are the people behind the cash registers, picking up their trash, working on the sewer system, picking the fruit, and all the other shit they think is beneath them.

(B) is not really a thing, but if we assume it to mean "no one has want or suffering for lack of economic ability to obtain it" that assumes that such being the case, no one would do anything but argue on the internet every waking hour, or stay drunk, or jerk off, or some combination of these. Human experience demonstrates that this is not the expected outcome.

OK, maybe I missed something, but when does suspended mean fired? Everything I see says they suspended him. I assume they are looking for some reason to fire him that won't open them up to lawsuits, or they are vetting him again to ensure there is not anything real that they will be hit with later. We know the right loves to make fake lawsuits, and if they keep him the school will be forced to defend him in court because the parents are going to Trump.

I cannot imagine a school board is going to fire him based on the parent's claims about his facebook being pornographic.

The thing this country really needs is the ability to punish the people who make up bullshit. It would be really nice if the principle could get some punitive damages from the people who reported normal pictures of a married couple that did not raise to the point of facebook banning them because there was no sexual content. It is really a form of harassment to waste everyone's time and effort by yelling fire in a crowded theater.

And while rural Alberta is indeed full of conservative suckers, Calgary and Edmonton keep sending CPC MPs to Ottawa mostly due to vote splitting between the Liberals and NDP. I know two party systems aren't perfect by any means, but it's infuriating to watch those assholes claim to speak for all Albertans after winning with only 40% of the vote.

I have to wonder if this is floundering, or if the schools complied once the law was in effect and eliminated the books due to not wanting to litigate. I am sure the lawsuits will be coming by the one million terrorist moms organization, but the school could just avoid it to save the money.
