My local grocery store happened to have a deal today with a mixed box of 24 craft beers for only $12.99. It was all bottles that either were left over from mix-and-match 6-packs, or bottles that were salvaged from boxes that got damaged. The bottles themselves are in perfect condition. The catch is that you don't know what's inside until you bring it home and open it. We picked up two boxes (when am I ever going to be able to buy these for 50 cents apiece??). Here are the results: 24 bottles of Ballast Point Manta Ray Double IPA (very tasty, this was a huge score for only $12.99) 6 bottles of Drake's IPA (solid IPA) 6 bottles of Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA (never tried this, kind of excited for it) 6 bottles of North Coast Scrimshaw Pilsner (probably my favorite) 5 bottles of Dust Bowl Brewing Amber Lager (looks like a good light beer) 1 bottle of Angry Orchard Cider Won't have to buy beer for quite a while!
Last year in Greece I was fortunate to sample the local lager, named Mythos. And I was doubly fortunate to be able to find some again once I got home. Anyone else had this lovely stuff?
