Well WELCOME to my NEW and Improved BEER thread.. who am I kidding, it's still the same. All the BEER fun of BEER.. Feel free to express your Opinions. Just remember we do not all like the same beer. So if you disagree with me I am OK with that.

I really wish my WHOLE thread from the old board could have been moved, all you get to see are my reviews. There was a lot more to it. But we can start over.

I'll have to admit that I'm really enjoying reading the beer review thread. I've already found a few that I'm interested in trying out.

I think I didn't see a beer that he didn't like until #30 or #31 or something like that. So I'm guessing he generally likes beer. Most any kind of beer! So essentially they're all drinkable, and most all taste good, and this is just a running log of Larry's drinking...!

EXACTLY!! There are a FEW TERRIBLE beers (Game Day Ice is the WORST)

Genesee's brews are all good. I really enjoyed Genesee Ice.

Is anybody familiar with untappd? It's a beer themed social networking site where you can check in to the beer you're having, rate it, and post a micro-review (think Twitter). I've posted 73 reviews so far.

I have used Beeradvocate. But not them.

Old 1971 Genesee Ad..

Larry - will be trying one of those 5 new-to-me beers tomorrow, hopefully - will give you a 'mini-opinion' and see if you have tried it to look up on your reviews after I down it. (am on red wine these past few days as my tummy was a bit upset after tackling one of my dead dad's mushroom pies) Did I email you the piccie of the ones I bought in a week or so ago that are waiting, yet?

I stopped using it for a while because the app on my phone broke. New phone, using it again, and they've added some features, like crowd sourced data about where you can find a certain beer.

Also called Laurentide in Quebec.
Check out it's fraternal twin, Export Ale sometime. Also related, Stock Ale and Golden.

Avoid Labatt in general, unless it's O'Keefe's Extra Old/Hi Test... hard to get east of Winnipeg though.

Maybe a Cascadian Forger can hook you up with some brewed in BC Kokanee? Once upon a time they actually did use glacial water (which impressed Coors enough to swipe the association, if not the methods). I'm pretty sure the original brewery is still producing regional supplies.

Final western recommendation would be for Big Rock-Specifically if they're still brewing MacNally's Brown.

On the other side of the country, I'm fond of Boreale's family of beers, Noire being my fave.
