Beer Review # 195 Beer: "33" Export: Brewed Since: 1973 by Tien Gaing Lmtd, Gaing, Vietnam Type of Beer: Export Lager Color: Golden Yellow Smell: Strong skunky smell Taste: It's ok, Kinda bitter Drinkability: As long as you don't smell it, it's not to bad. Overall: Brewed in Vietnam for the French, "33" export was originally owned by Lao Brewing co. It comes in a really cool looking bottle, but it's a below average beer. I am glad I tried it, but it will be my last.
Green Monstah IPA Wachusett Brewery Will post a review after the game, probably tomorrow, but in a word, good!
This thread greatly complements this thread: http://wordforge.net/index.php?threads/the-grilling-smoking-bbqing-thread-of-2013.97478/page-6 That's a cool shot from inside Fenway!
But... drinking gives me an excuse to make an ass out of myself. If I keep calm, I'm less likely to engage in ass-like behavior. Seems like a wasted opportunity.
Well, I opened the dry mead... Honeyrun Ragnar's Dry Mead. It has a very light, almost non-existent flavor. The mild acidity is the most noticeable thing about the taste. At first I thought there was no bouquet, but then I really paid attention and noticed the slightest hint of citrus. I would recommend this to those that like the idea of drinking wine but don't like the taste, those that would describe Bud Light as being "way too strong with an overpowering flavor," or to babies that have just stopped breastfeeding and need to work their way up to something as strong as apple juice. Despite all that, I still like it. I'm going to have no trouble finishing the bottle tonight. Which is a good thing because I just found out this girl I've had a serious crush on for the past year broke up with her boyfriend a month ago and I've been being a chicken shit about flirting with her. A wench by my side and a jug of mead these are the things that I most need
Amateur? Ha! I'm an expert of making an ass out of myself even when sober. To back this up, 95% of my posts here were made while sober. Alcohol is merely a catalyst. It's not the difference between not doing so and doing so with me; it's the difference between proficient and epic.
I'm an expert at it. I've been told "You're the only person I know that can incite so much rage in anyone so quickly." in various ways.
And then this happened: In addition to everything else I said, mead also makes me awesome at talking to women, apparently. I wonder what else mead makes me better at? This requires thorough scientific investigation.
Yeah, but, I did... and, success... maybe. Encouraging a woman to drink so that she's more open to advances I consider very unethical. Using alcohol to suppress my sometimes overpowering sense of self-doubt, while there are risks, such as that "making an ass out of myself" thing we were discussing earlier, I don't have any ethical or moral concerns about it.
Speaking of, I'm watching some guy who's working on picking up a chubby. He's bought her 2 drinks and just ordered her dinner. He's sort of blitzed. I'm guessing he going to get turned down.
Started talking to her slimmer cuter friend, her name is Karen. Got her phone number, in less time than it took the chubby to eat.
I have just learned that the people that think craft beer has become too mainstream are beginning to switch over to mead. On the plus side, this means mead will become easier to find and more variety will become available. On the down side, once again I find myself on the cutting edge of being a pretentious douche.
Lifes a bitch aint it.. Here is an idea,, DRINK WHAT YOU LIKE!! And fuck everyone that doesn't like it..
I've been at the forefront of a good half dozen drinking trends. I joke that I started the revivals of martini, scotch, and tequila, but realistically, I can't take sole credit for these things. And of course, I was disdainful of Merlot before sideways came out. When it comes to beer, and most things alcoholic, I'm a snob, but not a pretentious snob. I legitimately enthuse about people doing their own explorations and drinking what they enjoy, not what I think they ought to enjoy.
