I can vouch for the veracity of this statement. It's confusing when you don't see a urinal. And women can give you some really nasty looks when you need to pee.
A man had his daughter in the Mens room at the store, she was about 3, and she said, DADDY, how come your bathroom has water fountains in it??
KJ's favorite is their Spotted Cow (she likes Moon Man too), and she's tried a variety pack or two of theirs, but I don't remember either of those being one of the names in the pack. I don't think she'd like fruit or sour in her beer anyway
My dad was able to get a 4-pack of Heady Topper from a friend of his. (That's right, be jealous!) I'm probably drinking it on Sunday. What should I drink it in? Snifter? Goblet? Tulip Glass?
I hadn't heard of that one but I will look for it. There is one specialty beer shop around here which can get its hands on beers which aren't officially distributed in this state as they mail beers from around here to them in exchange for beers you can only get in other parts of the country. From the picture I do have to wonder why Heady Topper comes in a can instead of a bottle.
You can only get it in Burlington, Vermont. It's currently the #1 beer on Beeradvocate and is very hard to find. Every new batch sells out really fast. I guess we'll see how much of that is hype and how much is real. I can't wait to try it.
I sampled Heady Topper at the All American Craft Brewing Festival. It was extremely good. @foil1212, you are a big hop fan, right? I think you'll like it quite a bit. I tried a couple of new to me beers last night: Bear Republic Red Rocket; Green Flash West Coast IPA. I liked The Bear Flag better. That brewery can do no wrong, and the Red Rocket was as good as I expected, even though I'm not a big fan of the Scottish ale style they based it on. Nice and crisp, clean flavor, nothing to not like, though it didn't knock my socks off. The Green Flash would make for a good introduction to the uninitiated IPA drinker. I'd have liked a more piney flavor, but they went with a flowery/sweeter hop. Very well crafted, just not as bitter as I prefer.
Hoppy is okay. Some beers have been too hoppy for me, but I've liked others that have been pretty hoppy, and definitely as time goes on I like hoppier beers more.
I'm getting kind of tired of the super hoppy beers and I'm happy there is now much more on the market. Super Hoppy was cool back in the late 90's when it was all the rage on the west coast but a decade plus later it just seems like an old hat to me. I'm much more into rare styles of beer or wild beers now.
We lived a few years in Philadelphia when I was growing up, and Schmidt's was one of my big plans for when I reached beer drinking age. But we moved before that time, and ultimately, I never got the chance. Do you know whether it is still available anywhere?
NO.. here is the story http://www.bizjournals.com/philadel...ladelphia-institution-crying-in.html?page=all We used to get Schmidt's here, because they had a brewery in Cleveland too. It was really good beer.
Around here Genesee is a road and not a beer which is odd given how there are such massive quantities of breweries around here.
Beer Review#196 Beer: Four-0 Ice Beer: Brewed Since: 2011 by Copper Mountain Brewing Co, Monroe, Wisconsin Type of Beer: Ice Beer Color: Pale Yellow Smell: very sweet Taste: Like frosted flakes. Kinda Weird Drinkability: I Barely finished mine, it was just blah.. Overall: Well that was .79 cents wasted on a terrible Ice beer.
I particularly enjoy Pabst Blue Ribbon, Oktoberfest, and Highlife lately. I tried a combination of 3 fall beers the other night one of my bar buddies made up for me, I'm going to have to find out what they were again because it escapes me. She topped it with a rim of cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg. Seriously: pumpkin pie.
VERY STRONG, but good stuff IMO! Goes great with MANY foods. Drinking one now in fact Having it after eating two pulled pork sandwiches. Has a nice somewhat/tad wine-ish flavor (IMO anyway).
Beer Review #197 Beer: Redds Strawberry Ale: Brewed Since: 2013 by Redds Brewing Co, Albany Georgia (Miller/Coors) Type of Beer: Apple-Strawberry Ale Color: Yellow (Hardly ANY fizz) Smell: Like Captain Crunch Crunch Berry cereal Taste: like carbonated apple juice with strawberry kool-ade mixed in (Not Bad) Drinkability: It's more like a wine cooler than a beer. Overall: Not bad if your not wanting or don't like the taste of beer, might be good in the summer.
