In any other country, developed or not, news that 15+ elementary school kids were massacred in a single day would be a shock to the country’s core… here it is just another day. And we really criticize other countries for their human rights violations and standards of living… it is insane.

It would take a consolidated group of African Americans, women who have had abortions, trans, and gay people to buy guns and shoot down fuckers like Paladin who can't think for themselves but need the NRA to tell them what they need to say or do. If you want gun bans I have a new way to get them. Start shooting up the state legislature. I am not saying that is a legal game idea that won't get you killed or tossed in prison, but until the danger threatens the lawmakers they won't be bothered because it is not them getting shot.

Maybe we might get some traction if we forced lawmakers and government employee children into public schools rather than gated private schools. If your children had to go to public school instead of private school you might care about public schools and making the community safe.

Untilo we pop the bubble where 99 percent of politicians live in the private bubble away from the public things will never change. How quickly would Pelosi and Biden change their tune and attack Manchin if they had to send their kids to the worst public school in their district? How fast would pelosi change her republican tune if she had to shop in a downtown walmart for her ice cream? How fast would they do something if they had to live in the most destitute neighborhoods?

This is why all they care about are tax breaks for the rich and their donors. They are not forced to live with 99 percent of people.

@Paladin forgets that the Parkland schools had armed guards on the grounds and police at the school. The teacher's primary responsibility is to lock down and keep their kids safe as possible. You cannot leave the kids alone to go play rambo and shoot other kids.

Really, at what level of guns would the school be safe from shooters? The answer is zero and as you add guns the school becomes more vulnerable to shootings, not safer.
