Well, I will say this. If you attack me with a weapon and I'm able to take it from you, you sure as fuck won't ever be getting it back.

And while I'd leave the house/car keys (too many complications/hassles) I could see myself relieving my attacker of any cash in his wallet.

Imagine you're lying practically defenseless on the street and a mugger with a gun tries to take your wallet. Through desperate measures you manage to drive him off and you take away his gun. The next day, you're carrying the gun but he comes back for more. Only this time, he's got a shotgun and a knife. You manage to drive him off again and this time you take his shotgun. Repeat this same scenario yet a third time. On top of that, live with a never-ending stream of insults and threats of violence from his friends in the neighborhood.

Are you going to give up those weapons, the new ones you've bought, and the other lessons and advantages you've learned?

I'd move to Wyoming.

I've actually been to Wyoming. Driven completely across the state multiple times. It's a whole bunch of nothing bordered on one side by some cool mountains. I wouldn't consider living there unless I had so much money that I never had to work or interact with the locals.
