Well, you never bothered to prove that.
John threw the Jains at me, and they're only 1'000 years old, and the Abrahamic God, the Egyptian God, and violent sacrificial Paganism are all way before that.

presuming you're talking about human sacrifice?:evidence:

afraid you won't find nearly as much as you'd think.

when you do, you'd be surprised who it often was.

Off the top of my head, Druids.

If that's not true, then every sourcebook in every library in this fucking state lied to me, cuz pre-internet, I combed everything for a report I did.

The Druid (plural of Drui) had no written language. Accounts of human sacrifice, particularly the so-called Cult of the Skull, were written after the fact by Roman historians looking for a way to justify the fact that Julius Caesar slaughtered approximately one million men, women, and children in order to clear the land for Roman occupation.

I said the Jains are older than a thousand years, and are an offshoot of an even older set of pagan beliefs that stretch back before the time of Judaism, and you, of course, deflected it because it didn't fit your ever narrowing "qualifications". There are also 4.2 million Jains, so it's not like they're just a cult, either.

Did some research for a book and learned about Tir Nanog, which makes a whole lot more sense than the Christian afterlife. I lost several people who were close to me that year, and it resonated.

It's not as if the Celts weren't a bloodthirsty lot, but they preferred bashing each others' skulls in and stealing cattle to any kind of organized campaign, which is why they gave the Romans such grief. And they did believe that the soul resided in the skull, so there have been a few archeological finds of skulls set into niches in what may have been temples, but this was more likely akin to Mount Seleya and the keeping of the Katra than definitive evidence of ritual sacrifice.

Not saying there wasn't any, but history is written by the victors, after all.
