Was advised and convinced to start a new Workshop thread consisting of any hand-drawn artwork for Space Pirates I care to share.

And so, to start, here's some of the work recently scanned, but not necessarily recently drawn.

And clearly, some I just never bothered to finish...

This will do for now. There will be more to come.

I have no idea what inspired this. I just thought it was funny.

It's cool but rather FUTURAMA-ish, don't you think? Especially the one where they sit on the sofa.

I agree with Cass to some degree, though the dynamic explained in the pilot as well as one consistent enemy are two things that set it very apart from Futurama.

Really? I can see it a bit, but I get more "Looks like Invader Zim" than anything. Or "Looks like JtHM." More Vasquez related.

But it's not surprising you'd see Groening in it. I'd say two styles that influenced mine the most where Groening (Futurama/ The Simpsons) and Vasquez (Invader Zim/ Johnny the Homicidal Maniac/ I Feel Sick/ Squee.)

I grew up on The Simpsons, and I watched Zim and read Vasquez's comics like crazy last year.

    Definitely at least a blend.

That's actually the creators. Vladimir is the middle, Drifter_Red is on the right, and I don't know if the other one has a WF account.

They all look really similar to real life.

And Vladimir. You should put up the picture of the "group". The one where I have like 7 cigarettes.

Haha. I dont know if I have that one...I dont think I've seen it almost since I drew it. I wanna say Noah wanted it.

I'll have to ask. I think that was actually the first time I drew Noah and Smitty.

And yes, Noah's Wordforge account is Beelzeboss.

Actually, I think you're right. Either Smitty or Noah has it. Maybe even Kyle, but I really doubt that one.

Ever wonder what Vlad does when he's in church? Well the small artwork compilations below were actually drawn on guest cards on various days at church. There are tons more, but only those survived the critique for scanning.

Others are just more drawings of ridiculousness.

The two with the titles "Pety Torture" are actually artwork designs for the logo of the production company I hope to erect for Space Pirates.

Space Pirates is number 16 on Harvey Birdman's myspace's Top 24.

The Harvey Birdman myspace consists of all the animators that bring Birdman to the viewing public.

Somewhat of a small deal, I suppose, but I got pretty excited when I saw it. Made me feel like we're doing something worth while.

Im really getting closer to writing the second episode script.

Co-creator Drifter_Red sent me a care package including some notes he took on pirates while watching the History Channel. Some fantastic little tidbits of information, with a wealth of comedic potential.

Expect it when you least expect it.

:mrsa: love it! More more more! Your sense of humor always makes me smile if not actually laugh out loud. Although the people in the local library apparently frown on girls who laugh so hard they snort..

    Rochelle, ninja leader.

Jacques, very french, very vain ninja. Uses various objects stereotypically french to subdue and confuse his enemies. This includes escargonades, baguette nunchuks, grated cheese conceilment powders, and an elongated cigarette filter that doubles as a poison blowdart gun.

Sorry, I see that name, I have that flashback.
It cracks me up, what can I say.

Of course, now you absolutely have to have her wound a fat black guy so he can say that.

A few new things, nothing awesome, but some humor.

Soon I'll be posting drawings from our two newer concepts, "Suits" and "Ninjas."

And now, the new cast members of Space Pirates appear.

    First off,

Otto and Inga. Otto is the head agriculturalist for the Dreadknot. Inga is his daughter.

Doc Wiley. The bartender and owner of "Doc's," on the third floor under deck.

Debbie Carmichael, The Dreadknot's Communications Expert. Basically a prissy little gum-chewing, pink haired receptionist.

Bomba, the Algerian manager of the hotel concierge, aboard the Dreadknot. Uptight as they come, but overall a nice guy.

Rocko Wallace, the Dreadknot's mechanical engineer. Rocko's younger days saw him a reckless, hot-tempered goliath, and eventually he found himself at the wrong end of a shotgun. He lost his left arm as a result, and his life following that next day had changed dramatically. He is now a model man, and a talented engineer.

Cybrus, the Dreadknot's computer data core technician. Cybrus handles the entire ship's computer workings from his fortress of data screens, alien keyboards, data spheres, and a network of processing tubes, which upload, download, crypt and decrypt countless lines of code daily.

The Kitchen Staff: Left to Right.

Eli Steinwitz, the assistant head chef. Amazing chef, but gets remarkably nervous around others, and is overly modest.

Sébastien le Magnifique, the head chef. The man is all about food. That's it. He's uptight, he's tedious, he's a fantastic chef. Also, the only homosexual in the immediate and intermediate cast of Space Pirates, though Im sure I'll have other, much less stereotypical, gays variously throughout the series. It's an equal-opportunity casting process.

Eddie Rizzuto, the short-order cook. He's small, he's got a Brooklyn city background, and an heavy Italian family history. He damn near hates his coworkers, and most of the cast. He's all about pasta and pizza.

And finally, the new immediate cast member,

Samantha Jackson, the space craft mechanic. Sam can build, fly, and fix absolutely any space craft in the galaxy. Hell, her father probably designed most of them, or at least the crafts the others were inspired by. She's rough and tough, and a true grease-monkey at heart.
