It looks more interesting than 90 percent of the movies in the theaters - which means of course it can't compete with "Larry The Cable Guy versus Hip Hop Penguins II" by Pixar.

Well, I know I adore Frank Miller, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, and Paz Vega. The eye candy alone from that combo makes it mind blowing. I watched the trailer like 50 times last night. Plus Scarlett has a parasol! [action=wahine]dies[/action]

I'm not really sure how good or bad a plot off of The Spirit could be. I'm hoping for good even though Frank Miller has taken a whole lotta creative license, e.g. no P'Gell that I can see, which isn't as terrible as showing Octopus. I mean, he's got the gloves, but he's also got a lot more. That doesn't even make sense.

I think people who know nothing about the Spirit and like pretty women and Don Juan type men will enjoy it a lot more than people who actually know about the comic. But isn't that the case with all comic book movies? I trust Frank Miller to make a much better movie than most comic book movies (although it won't touch TDK). It certainly looks better than that piece of shit Watchmen movie. Although it looks like that one's going to get a lot more hype. I'm thinking they're going to bank on Scarlett and Frank Miller's name.

    On your knees then! Ah!

I'd feel a hell of lot more positive about it if Darwyn Cooke was running the show instead of Frank Miller. Miller's like a bad parody of himself anymore.

It's a pretty big pet peeve of mine when people make movies from stories shortly after the story's author dies, as is happening here. It's kind of like "Well I waited until you were dead because I knew you wouldn't let me get away with..." like showing Octopus, right?

But Eisner/Miller (the book) gives me confidence. And I really just like Miller's style. Sin City wasn't my favorite movie because there were a lot of things I didn't like about it (Jessica Alba for one XD), which was disappointing because I am completely in love with his style. I think this is going to be a lot more up my alley and I'm excited.
