Between Trump essentially demanding to see the President's papers, Ann Coulter taking to twitter to call the President a "retard" and Sarah Palin saying his "shucking and jiving of lies" must end, we've officially reached the height of Stupid Season.

As conservatives grow more desperate, expect even more racism, birtherism and simple stupidity...all of which will hurt Mitt Romney in the polls.

    It's going to be glorious.

^And look who's the first to respond. Must be self-identification with the word "stupid."

I don't even have to try anymore to get them running in whatever direction I want.

Must be how the President feels.

I'm not quite as optimistic as you are. An awful lot of people are easily led by those who shout the loudest and most repetitively.

I think those people (OMG I SAID THOSE PEOPLE!!!) already made up their mind a long time ago.

But for the seven undecideds left...how can they look at the stupidity and hate of people like Palin, Trump, Coulter, Mourdock, Akin, etc and think "yep, these are my folks?"

There's a different way of dismissing as unimportant the "rough edges" of each of them.

Using WF as a parameter, Coulter is now dismissed as "a cunt." Palin is dismissed as "So fuckin' what? I'd still bang her." Mourdock and Akin are dismissed as "they're entitled to their opinions because nothing's going to change anyway," and Trump is dismissed as "Well, yanno, he's a multi-billionaire, so he must be doing something right, and anyway, he's such a kidder!"

They ain't my folks, and they certainly have gone off the deep end while embracing the lunatic fringe of the hard-core conservative right.

On the other hand, Obama has proven himself to be a bitter disappointment as President, and under no circumstances should he be given four more years to continue fucking up the country.

This should have been a slam dunk for the Republicans. But since they have become so out of touch from reality have dropped the Presidency right back into Obama's lap.

That's all well and good. But surely you agree that the birtherism, racism and flagrant disrespect for the office aren't good for your side, right?

As good a characterization of Coulter, et al. as any. When are you lot going to disavow these people, anyway? Or do you not have that power?

You don't spend day and night "disavowing" the nutters from your side...you ignore the retards. Why should it be different for Republicans?

Who gives a damn what authors and pundits think and say anyway?

The ones he takes his marching orders from feel great about it. They think Mittens has it sealed up.

Then when Mittens doesn't win, they'll turn on him faster than a bad egg turning on your digestive system.

Possibly because I don't watch any of these people, so while I might recognize their faces, I'm not as well versed in what they say as the rest of you apparently are.

    Brava, Ms. Coulter.

What Republicans? There are no Republicans on WF, only conservatives, libertarians, and Nots, as in "I'm not a..."

What they are is willing to retcon the Righty talking heads as "entertainers," i.e., they're defending them.

Again, because I don't get my news pre-masticated by Talking Heads, I don't care about them as much as I observe with amusement those willing to defend them and try to explain them away. I'm inclined to wonder if there's a threshold. "Limbaugh caught drowning kittens" would be dismissed by some around here with "Obviously Photoshopped."

I guess since it's not "my side" I don't know if those people are considered nutters or not. Given that I've met several people who actively support the likes of Limbaugh and O'Reilly, but very few who support Maddow, Chomsky, etc. I'm kind of torn. Mind you, I might have a confirmation bias, as most of the people I know tend to fall into the conservative, moderate, or libertarian camps.

There was a Chomsky thread not long ago in which I resoundingly criticized him. When it's on topic, you'll see quite a few of us go after Moore and the like. This thread is about Coulter et al. Do you disavow?

I dunno about Tamar, but I certainly do. Coulter is out to make money off of being a troll, nothing more. Just like Beck. Unlike Moore, who seems simply to be a clueless fuckwit.

Michael Moore seems to be the kind of guy who feels the ends justify the means, which is frustrating. There are times when he makes good points in his movies, but they're handily dismissed by the outright lying, and it just makes him a giant douchebag.

Beck and Coulter are most certainly trolls, though.

Need I point out that there are plenty of people who, upon learning that a person is either black or a Muslim (or both), will demand that said black/Muslim disavow Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton/Louis Farrahkahn/bin Laden/boogeyman of the month? They don't automatically assume that because the person they're talking to is a reasonable human being it should go without saying that they don't want anything to do with Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton/Louis Farrahkahn/bin Laden/boogeyman of the month.
