Can someone, ideally without mentioning Trump or even right v left, just break it down for @oldfella1962 and explain why pardoning bad guys who have been convicted of some really bad shit, isnt a good idea. @Paladin given the old dude won't listen to his fierce critics around here, you might want to take this one....
I am pretty sure Trumpsters don't know that. It is evident we have a new standard below toddler, and we should probably get used to using it. This way we do not malign the good name of toddlers.
Again, you are insulting 3 year olds needlessly. We have trumpians, trumpsters, trumptards (the redundancy actually works in this case.), and many other terms related to them. I know toddlers and they are not as bad as trump supporters.
This seems to be obvious evidence we need to do something about the pardoning powers of the president. I am sure if we talk to that pelosi lady, or perhaps that mitch guy we might get something done. Oh, we forgot to take out the really old rotten trash that was here before trump. Oh well, I hope nothing bad comes of this.
Speaking of pardons I I was surprised to find out that FDR granted almost 3,000 of them! Then again he did serve a long time but regardless that's quite a total.
Whoa whoa whoa there Mrs. Cawthorn. Triggered much? The Russia investigation produced 8 guilty pleas and a conviction at trial. So what actually happened doesn’t line up with your version of reality. As for the left busting on Trump, you act as if he went into politics as clean as a whistle. The guy’s a grifter and a liar mentored by Roy Cohn of all people. 81M+ people were smart enough to see through the ruse and change course.
And it's still tame compared to how the right was "busting" on Obama... Hell, someone can probably find some post by @oldfella1962 from that time posting "funny" racist memes...
then again just showing a picture of Obama under any conditions would be considered racist by much of the left.
The difference is damn near everything the right wing said about Obama was a lie. He was born in the US, he was a Christian, he was't a socialist, far from it. And damn near everything the left said about Trump was true. He did actively ask for help from the Russians on the election, and then used the powers of the office to pressure the Ukrainians. He has been sued over a thousand times, even during the election, when he was being sued for fraud for Trump University. He was actively seeking a deal with Putin for property while the candidate, he did cheat on his taxes per his lawyer, he did brag about sexually assaulting women, he has been accused of sexual harassment and rape dozens of times, he did oversee a casino that got the largest money laundering fine in US history. And on and on and on. But he tells you the lies you want to hear. So you are emotionally invested in being right, as opposed to doing the right thing. It's as simple as that.
Actually, I think the foul insult he uses as a nickname for Kamala Harris is already much more pathetic. So the answer to your question is: yes.
Meanwhile, in the "Things Trump CAN'T Pardon Himself For" department, Cyrus Vance has just hired a forensic accounting firm to help with his investigation into the Trump Organization's probable fraud ... https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...c43a38-43c8-11eb-b0e4-0f182923a025_story.html
Basically it looks like Trump is preparing to basically pre-emptively pardon most of his administration, along with some rappers: https://fortune.com/2021/01/08/trum...ows-ivanka-trump-jared-kushner-rudy-giuliani/
So disgusting, but thoroughly expected. What is saddest, is that most Trump supporters will find that perfectly acceptable.
Trump is expected to issue about 100 pardons tomorrow: https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/17/politics/trump-pardons-expected/index.html
Any bets on whether he'll pardon any of the Beer Belly Putsch rioters? My guess is no. The near-certainty of lawsuits filed by people like the QAnon Shaman, seeking to save their own skins, is still not as bad as essentially admitting to their premise (that they were only doing it because he encouraged them) ... which would open not only a line of attack for prosecutors, but also for wrongful-death lawsuits filed by the families of Brian Sicknick and the rioter who was shot. Plus, after his initial glee that people were fighting for him, he supposedly got angry that the rioters "looked trashy." I think he'll hang them out to dry.
And just in case the news about Trumpworld trying to sell pardons hasn't been linked elsewhere ... https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/17/us/politics/trump-pardons.html
