three reasons why I'm not attending the local PRIDE activities

I enjoy Pride festivities and have been to a few events in the past.

But this year, the Pride Toronto organizing committee can suck a spiked dildo and die.

Long story short: at last year's Toronto Pride parade, Black Lives Matter blockaded the parade for about an hour and gave a list of several demands, which were eventually agreed to by the Pride organizing committee. One of those conditions included excluding police officers from officially attending the event. Flash forward after much public debate, and it turns out New York City is more welcoming than Toronto.

And even the pastor who has presided over the event for over twenty years pointed out the issues surrounding the history of his own church and said Pride should be inclusive.

The icing on the cake is that it has been thunder-storming all day.

Fuck Pride Toronto and fuck these leftist idiot groups who just reek of hypocrisy.

The first time I went to a Pride parade, I was surprised to find how many people were there with their children. The parade itself was fairly family friendly. The City of San Diego allows girls to be topless with rainbow pasties and they don't say anuthing, which is the extent of the craziness of our Pride here.

Last year's was even more toned down than the one in 2013. Maybe part of that was because of the events in Orlando the month before, but even if I had the weekend off this year i would have skipped it anyway.

I don't get this attitude and considering all the brouhaha from BLM about white culture stealing from us and making everything about themselves to the rampant homo/biphobia that exists in black communities (at least in the American bramches: maybe black Canucks are more open minded), the display at last year's pride was hypocritical at best.

Philadelphia had the right idea of unveiling a flag with black and brown stripes as a talking point about the racism that exists there, but stopping a whole parade smacks of the same cuntery as dumbass white college kids blocking freeways and refusing to let a man walk ON FOOT to the next exit to his minimum wage job.

Yep, totally family friendly.

There's also a lot of complaining about Pride becoming "too corporate." And while I get the sentiment -- "if you weren't willing to stand with us when we were getting the shit kicked out of us, don't try to march with us now that we're popular" -- I also keep wanting to say "for fuck's sake, when your cause is so widely accepted that the notoriously gutless corporate America wants to jump on board, that means you've WON."
