Well, all those Atlantans in the midst of a terrible drought prayed for stormy weather, and their prayers were answered by an ironic and vengeful god. Ok, not really. But the failure to attribute events like this to prayer is a really big part of the selective anecdotal reasoning that keeps people thinking that prayer does a lick of good.
