It's not just schools. I know people my age who refuse to buy their children toy guns. My six year old had toy guns before he could walk and every year they get bigger and badder.

I don't mind them, tho because anyone who's ever stepped on a lego while barefoot first thing on a Saturday or Sunday morning before coffee would much rather step on a nerf bullet.

The whole idea that playing with toy guns or video games leads to kids killing kids is incredibly stupid.

I played a great deal of both...I was a major tomboy in a neighborhood full of boys...and not once did I have the remotest urge to get my Dad's gun and shoot some bitches.

Now tie and asshole up with my jump-rope and lock him in the shed for an hour pretending I didn't have the key until he cried...well...guilty on that one. He never should have threw that rock at my head.

Kids are mean. It's part of exploring independence and discovering standing up for yourself apart from the parents. It's normal and passes...if you let it. I think the problems are going to get worse because they aren't letting some stuff get worked out naturally and that will create time-bombs.

    You know what'll happen?

This kid will grow up, won't get into college, will end up flipping burgers somewhere, will become extremely bitter, and then go on a shooting rampage against the folks who expelled him...

    I have foreseen it.

So then why the fuck is this kid still expelled? :ua:

This is unmittigated bullshit. Ok I dig it; the days of going hunting before school, driving there and leaving your rifle or shot gun hanging in the rear window are ok. But a fucking TOY gun? For fucks sake they wont even let kids mime a gun with their hands while they play these days. This is beyond the stupidity of zero tolerance policies.

Really? While I sympathize with this kid a whole hell of a lot, this is more moronic bullshit. Look colleges and employers couldn't give a fuck what you did in 2nd grade. If they did I would have been exiled from civilized society for the shit that I pulled back then. So do us all a favor and stop with the vaginal weeping in an effort to get sympathy points.

Per my son's elementary school, yeah that is expulsion type of behavior. They can't even draw a gun with out the teachers flipping out.

 Same son is so pissed off with the school rules that this year when he had to make and decorate a book cover (what the fuck ever happened to just using brown grocery bags) he intentionally got the biggest image he could of infantry crossed rifles and used them as the center point of the art. I'm thinking this kid is gonna be a winner.

Finding the brown bags, for one.

I still don't get the weeping over grocery bags.

Both the paper and plastic are recyclable so why the hell to push for cloth...cloth that you have to wash and dry and make a bigger "carbon footprint" to maintain, if you buy into their scams.

I guess the fact people are forgetful and they can scam a few $$ out of guilty feeling people over and over again. :jayzus:

Did not read the thread. No clue how real or what not it looked. Don't care not the issue I care about.

They need to sign that kid up for an online school and he will probably go back a grade ahead.

I love those stretchy spandex type book covers. Just slip them on and off - they are great!

Shit, when I was a kid there were numerous hunting rifles hanging in gun racks out in the parking lot.
Hell, I carried a little buck knife in my pocket for years.

This was just another case of the school board covering their asses, or so they thought. By the time they get done paying court and legal costs perhaps they'll realize the policy is utter shit....

    Naahhh, they won't learn. :jayzus:

This is Maine. And I went to what was the closest thing to a liberal fucknut school back in the 80's and even so during hunting season I would wager there were more cars with guns in them than without.

In fact, it was not that uncommon for paranoids who were concerned about theft to bring their rifle inside and store it in their locker.

Most kids had a pocketknife of some sort as well. Both boys and girls. It was considered common sense and I always had one in my purse. Never, ever had the urge to knife a bitch either.

Never a word said. No one has ever been shot at that high school either. I think they ban them now though just out of hysteria.

More kids are killed every year in cars...yet no one wants to protect the children by denying them licenses until they are 18. It's just one of the ways you know it has nothing to do with protecting kid's lives.

I agree. Online virtual schools can be great. But can a then 2nd grader even operate in that sort of environment?

I did some research on OHdela a while back, as an option for the stepkids. They had remarkable results with kids that age. For those interested, the company held seminars at which instructors and administrators spoke, and there was a meet-and-greet with families who already had children enrolled there. From Kindergarten on up, they boasted outstanding success rates, and the testimonials of OHdela families was equally stellar.

Of course, the program does require some parental involvement and vigilance, but if you're really concerned about the academic progress of your kids, the results should be well worth the extra investment of time. It's a put up or shut up kind of thing, and not for the I'm-too-busy-with-my-own-shit-to-parent parent.

You're a complete fucking moron if you actually believe that.

But it's more likely that you're slightly less of a moron than that made you appear, and you're just convincing yourself that you're a clever troll again.

When I was in HS, I did a project for a speech class that ended up being a demonstration of how to clean a rifle. So, I brought a Mosin-Nagant to school - with the permission of the principle. It went straight to his office. He checked it for ammo, put it in a locked closet he had, and brought it to me come class time. He then watched the speech, and took it back to his office, and then later met me in the parking lot after basketball practice.

We also had lots of kids with guns in their cars. After Columbine, the rumor was that the principle started keeping a gun in his desk, along with some of the coaches - and the head librarian who was also the athletic director.

 I calls 'em likes I sees 'em. Here we've got a 7 year old, bringing a clear plastic toy that shoots pellets to school and because it's shaped like a gun you've got a bureaucrat considering it a gun and another bureaucrat considering it a weapon because it...I'm not exactly sure what the reasoning was for why plastic pellets, moving at about the speed of a spitwad, would be considered a weapon.

And we've got you going "better safe than sorry." And we've seen you support BS fascist establishment in the past. :marathon:

:jayzus: Show me where I defended or supported it. I guaran-damn-tee you you're either accidentally or deliberately misinterpreting something.

It may be that I'm still giving you too much credit. Maybe my "blunt and obvious" approach is still a bit too subtle for you.
