This person may have had Race Affirming Surgery but they forgot to ask permission from random black lady to identify as Korean. https://www.yahoo.com/news/m-korean-people-accept-oli-230907178.html So is this the next thing? A few years ago I suggested trans species was the next step but race is the obvious interval I missed. Still, Trans Korean person is stunning and brave for coming out as Korean.
Trans racial hit the media in 2015. That's roughly the same time that Otherkin AKA trans species folks did. In the mid-90s, I was dating a Vietnamese immigrant and one of her favorite things to watch was a variety show shot in California (and as well done as just about anything you'd see on broadcast TV), in Vietnamese, by a nearly all Vietnamese cast. The one exception was a blond-haired blue-eyed American woman who was ~20. She spoke and sang fluent Vietnamese, and my girlfriend, and all her friends, were just in awe of the American woman. Every one of them described her as someone with an "American face and a Vietnamese soul." I don't know how they would have reacted if that woman went on to having plastic surgery and dyed her hair to look Vietnamese.
Why do I care if some dude wants to pretend to be Korean? Am I supposed to treat Koreans differently?
This is a new thing? Haven't literally all white people identified as 1/16 Cherokee for like a million years now?
I actually am 1/16th Cherokee... But for me, that's just an interesting bit of genetic trivia. It plays no part in my life, nor did it in my mother's, or, as near as I can remember, her mother's.
Her father was an American GI who'd abandoned her and her mother during the war, she was beaten by her step-father, and then when her mother died, her step-father dumped her in a Buddhist nunnery, where she lived until a refugee organization helped her move to the US. Ain't nothing wrong with sex work, but fuck you for thinking that everyone who makes it to the US is a hooker. She had to endure more bad shit before she was 10 than you or I ever will in our entire lives.
1/16 Algonquin. My grandfather told my mother how his mother used to do rain dances in secret during the dust bowl. She was only allowed to live in white society in southeastern Colorado if she gave up any Indian heritage and all customs. She risked lynching if caught. I think something like that may have happened to her mother.
OMG that person just erased both koreas and all korean people forever!!!!!! How dare they erase all that land, history and people! You say all of those things still exist and this person does not have any power or effect over their existence? It is sort of like everything @Federal Farmer parrots from fucker carlson and toe rogan is a lie. As for me, it does not terribly matter, but I don't need to tan my balls to prove I am a man like a bowtie wearing wussbag. Oh @Rimjob Bob your nuts are looking a much better shade of almond. When will you be a real man?
I'm more intrigued about how an Algonquin woman wound up in Colorado? But hey, my maternal grandfather was 1/4 Haida and my grandmother was half Haudenosaunee and they hooked up in Winnipeg...
@TheLonelySquire is whatever is left of dayton's testicles after he tried to jerk off with his stumps and got flesh eating bacteria all over them.
I generally don't care so long as they're not hurting anyone, but it's still a hell of a thing for generations of white people to basically criminalize being non-white, then to have their descendants insist they can declare themselves non-white and now that's cool and awesome.
