Some friends invited me to go see this tomorrow. I am wondering if I should go.

I haven't read one negative review yet (except special interest advocates). I would like to see it.

Read Roger Ebert's review at www.rogerebert.com. He panned it.

Did it have a 20 year old chick taking off her top? Because I have a pet theory that Ebert has a soft spot for gratuitous nudity. He's a lot more forgiving of a film if it has a hot young woman (or women), parading around nekkid for no reason.

    It's just a theory.

Well, there's good evidence to support your theory, Volpone. Ebert was the guy that penned the Russ Meyer epic, "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls".

Russ Meyer's claim to fame was making sexploitation flicks, early softcore, often featuring women with twin flesh zeppelins moored to the chest.

I just got back from seeing it and it's really good! It wasn't funny the whole time, of course, but I left the theater in a happy mood. :D
    The acting was good.
I don't think the special interest groups need to get so angry at the movie. The whole movie was one big joke! :P

I really liked it and I definitely recommend y'all go see it. It kills about 2 hours and it's just stupid fun.

Just came back from seeing it with the kid.

Funny as hell!!! Robert Downey was fantastic. I don't really like Ben Stiller but the asshole he played worked for him. Not one boring part to the movie

Something is wrong with you if you don't think this movie is funny.

My only critique of Robert Downey as a black dude. He didn't have the walk or other movements down. I guess some would see it as part of the comedy. But every time he walked or ran I saw whiteboy Robert.

The reason they get angry about it is because the demographic that its targeted at isn't likely to figure out that it's satire.

I know this is true because someone I work with went and saw that movie and is in the target demographic. He literally didn't know what satire meant.

Because he was playing the role of a white guy playing a black guy.
So if course the movie would show how absurd and unbelievable that wqhole idea would be.

That's interesting. To me he did a black guy really good. He didn't 'look' fake at all. I was glad he stayed in character throughout the movie. I like Robert the best. To me it was his movie, not Ben's.

Ok, so it's safe to say that Robert Downey Jr. is back on his game and living up to his talent again?

it was cool seeing tom cruise in a comedy role. he actually got most of the laughs in the theatre I was sitting in.

he may be a pretentious douchebag but he play different roles well.

Because I can't stand the idea of contributing to that "pretentious douchebag's" paycheck. :(

Even if the movie is incredible, I'd happily just wait for it to come out on DVD and rent it.

I was a little concerned about this before I saw the movie. I mean... a white guy in blackface? Come on!

I decided that The Wayans Brothers and Eddie Murphy have done this the other way around and they didn't mean it maliciously at all...

All in all, I liked the movie, but I can think of other Ben Stiller movies I liked better... The Heartbreak Kid for instance. I was a little dissappointed because the trailers looked hilariously funny... but it was only OK.

Well, I just saw it and I thought it was pretty boring, overall. Cruise and Mcconaughey were funny. Robert Downey Jr. was pretty good in a few scenes. I probably found 10-15 minutes of the movie entertaining. The rest = meh.
